Ordering from Amazon, how expensive/tedious?

Hi folks,

With KMD not available for orders right now, I was wondering how tedious/expensive it was to order stuff from Amazon. I am looking to buy a $140 sports watch and have it shipped across.

How much would duties come to? Do Amazon ship via USPS (translating to the thieving Speed Post/postal department when it comes to India).

Or does it use FedEx/others?

I have got stuff via FedEx before and paid custom duties directly to FedEx, which is so much earlier/convenient.
 
^^ AFAIK you cannot order directly from Amazon and get the stuff shipped to India. Amazon only ships CD/DVDs and books to India, nothing else.
 
afaik Amazon ships only by priority shipping with prepaid duties these days.

not a 100% sure though.

Try going up to the last checkout step and you'll know.

imo shouldn't this thread be in general talk?

Getting to the point, they ship electronics depending on the weight and availability of the product.

Heavier products are not shipped outside the states. But main point to note is air shipping almost doubles the cost of any item you buy from there.
 
You guys are right! Amazon does not ship all stuff. KMD where are thou?

Crapola. Now I just got an email from Amazon saying that they don't ship this watch internationally. Damn.

Are there any other sites that ships professional running watches overseas?

Try Borderlinx. They have a tie up with Citibank or may it has been started by Citibank because they take only Citibank credit cards but the site is very reliable. And their final cost calculator is very handy.

I will check with them, though I don't have a Citybank a/c and/or cc. Only Mastercard/Paypal.
 
Heard back from Aramex Shop n Ship, that they serve the rest of the country, but not to Eastern India as of now. They will soon they said.

Regarding 20North.com, I had selected two items after which I was supposed to get a clickable link with pricing within 24 to 48 hours. Nothing came after 48 hours :@ , so I went ahead and ordered it on GEB using a Rs 500 coupon that came via the SMS to Ebay.

I am not sure if the ICICI coupon worked with non-ICICI accounts and I don't have an ICICI cc/ac, so I did not try that route.

:offtopic:OT: Any idea when KMD might be back?
 
I am ordering a book from Amazon as the same book here is sold at almost double the price. I will be choosing standard shipping as the book is around 6.5 lbs. What should be the time by which I will receive the book, any idea? Amazon is ready to ship to India this particular book.
