I have subscribed mainly for need for speed. For the service I would say origin really did a good job with the access & I would recommend it to anyone.
Mainly because you can try/finish the game at a cheaper rate. Even if you don't like it then you can choose another.
Now I really agree that need for speed is boring. I have played almost 30 mins & I can say that the game failed to interest me. I thought it would be somewhat similar to underground series but I was wrong underground series pulled you the moment you started the game but here its just the opposite. The only positive point is the game is visually impressive thats it. Again this is my initial impressions I may be wrong too.

Can you tell me if you played the game any further than 30 minutes? Whether it is a yes or a no please describe what you liked and didn't like in the game. I see the deluxe edition for somewhere around 750 now but I really need to know if it is worth it. I haven't played or liked NFS games for a while now in fact Carbon was the last game I completed. I did play HP, Most Wanted to an extent and Rivals and HP and MW just felt like Burnout in disguise and I quit rivals at the introductory races where it kept swapping my role as a racer or a cop.

I already have bought Assetto Corsa and Project CARS but haven't downloaded them due to FUP issues in the last steam sale. So is it worth the purchase and my precious bandwidth because I know I have 2 good car games still to be downloaded and I already regret F1 2016 waste of money and bandwidth.

I have a set of frnds with whom I play BF1 on a regular basis (now lvl 75 in multiplayer :p). Its fun and as a veteran in BF games, I can tell you that this is the best installment so far and is smooth like butter.
There are some bugs obviously but its much better after the recent patch which fixed almost all the major bugs.

Battlefield 1's campaign has improved indeed. If you have seen the movie fury then you may find the first campaign somewhat similar. The whole campaign is based on a tank.

1. Long load times.
2. New bug. Car jumps to infinity just before entering the finish line.
3.Uninteresting story. racing just for the sake of racing.
4. Always online. Its like GTA online where anybody can join your map & you can either challenge other players or continue with the campaign.
5. Due to the above you cannot pause the game.
6. Boring races.

Car customization somewhat okay.
Runs good.

Guys my origin ID is same as the psn ID in my signature. You can add me using that.

Didn't you upload some pictures earlier and that is what attracts me about this game. Point 3 is not something that bothers me because I am used to racing games with no stories in fact I prefer them that way. Unable to pause and constant online is a huge annoyance. What I really wanted to know was the handling because some people slam it and some applaud it.

Pictures size was slightly high, was taking more time to load thus deleted. Controls are good with a 360 gamepad. I think you can get the game at this discounted rate.
I have spent many hours into the game now. Cant comment about kb/mouse (I generally avoid racing with kb/mouse).
I tried my best to love the game honestly. Even after so many mixed reviews I still subscribed to origin to play this. Anyways if you loved UG1 & UG2 you may like some elements of this game in the later stages but it still feels dull as compared to those titles.

I have put in 50+ hours into AC so I think I can give you an honest opinion. If you have only played NFS type arcade games, AC is very different. It has extremely realistic physics and cars feel like real cars. Also it works best with a wheel. I use a G27 with it and to be honest it is the closest one can get to experiencing a super car. The feel of each car is different and in fact I had as much fun driving the little 500 abarth as a 458 Italia. This is completely unlike any other racing game where you just want get away from the slower cars as soon as you can. The way the wheels turn, the way the elevation of the track changes, how one wrestles with the steering to avoid spinning out, how the brakes bite and lock up - everything is just fabulous. The tyre model is so good that even changing the tyre pressures by a few psi changes the handling. In fact I am sure, my G27 is the bottleneck here. With a fanatec or something similar, the experience will be surreal.

Unfortunately that is also the issue with with the game - everything else in the game feels like an afterthought - the campaign mode and such are just there as fillers. You will end up playing the game simply as a pure hot lap sim as the car models are just so real and feel so right.

For the very same reason, I do not recommend this game be played with a controller or keyboard. You will miss out on what makes the game great.

As for Project Cars, the only thing nice is the graphics. The car model and handling is more NFS than realistic. I barely played it an hour after getting it.

I did have a G27 which I sold off to @Sudarshan_SMD to buy a 3DS. I did use it a lot for F1 Championship Edition, Gran Turismo 5 and 6 and Ferrari Challenge. Without the wheel handling does suffer but I am still able to play DiRT Rally so I don't think AC or PC should be a huge issue just that I have to be careful about how much I press the triggers to accelerate and brake to avoid wheelspin and lock ups. My interest in Need For Speed is similar to my interest in Trackmania Turbo it helps me unwind without wondering about if my gear ratios are correct, ride height is okay, brake bias will benefit how etc

Project Cars is made by the same people who made NFS Shift Slightly Mad Studios and I really don't like the sims they make but I remember playing a sprint race at my friend's place a few corners in and I was in the lead with no one challenging me. I enjoyed the background as I went along. SMS make sims where cars feel like bricks and a slight tap can at times put the entire car in pendulum motion causing a crash or a spin.

Project CARS had license limitations where brand like BMW prevented them from damaging their vehicles. Otherwise , the studio was aiming for procedural damaging system (in realtime). A lot of people actually complaint about it.

Actually Shift wasn't too bad. The handling was acceptable. Not great but not terrible either. I still play it once in a blue moon. However PC's sim model even though more advanced feels like as if the cars are gliding on ice. They are rather hard to control and don't behave how a real car behaves on track. There is way too much understeer for things to be fun. I do not recommend it personally.

Sounds just like Test Drive Ferrari the game slightly mad studios made just before project cars. I don't why they're rated so highly.

The only game from that studio and it's ancestors that was really really good was BMW M3 Challenge. A freeware game with just one(M3) car and one track(Nurburgring) but boy was it fun. I spent more time on it than Shift and PCars combined.

Lol was there only 1 driver in it called Sabine Schmitz [emoji23]

I guess I won't be buying NFS on origins after all. Thanks :)

Not true. They also gave us the legendary GTR, GTR2, GT Legends and even NFS5.
The name keeps changing - Simbin, Blimey, SMS - but it was more or less the same core team.

Shift is the only low point in their history and the wonky airboat physics could be due to EA's influence.

PCARS might not be a purist grade sim but it's definitely nothing like NFS.
The difference between AC and PCARS could very well be attributed to user perception of realism than the developer's intention to strive for lesser realism.

rFactor 2 trumps over even AC in terms of realism, but AC isn't diminished in any way because of that.
Similarly PCARS has its place too.

NFS Porsche/NFS 5 is/was a great game.

Shift might be a low point but it is not the lowest point. The lowest point has to be Test Drive:Ferrari Racing Legends. The reviews for this game is bad, I thought may be the game is being slammed too much unnecessarily and decided to buy it. The game is abysmal - Brain Dead AI, tyres of soap, vintage cars have no weight, modern cars feel like a boat, a single/slight nudge can put you in a spin, the car is so unstable when approaching or exiting a corner, random difficulty spikes etc. All in all it is a horrible game and they didn't patch it because they moved onto Project Cars.

I subscribed to Origin Access today in the wee hours (1 AM).

The Origin client is really stupid or may be I am as I could not find the cart. I of course wanted to get 2 more games as well - The Saboteur (@ithehappy >_<) and Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box but after getting Origin Access to get another 10% discount. So thanks to the 3 transactions 1 for Origin Access and the other 2 for the 2 mentioned games I ended up with a blocked card. My bank found this to be suspicious (3 transactions within 2.5 minutes) and sent me an email asking me to verify and put a 24 hours block on it. After calling them up and replying to them over email I was informed in the morning that the card was unblocked. Seriously why does the buy option directly prompt for payment and not take me to a cart page with continue as an option. So far the experience of Origin is a bit (-_-)

But I will use it to play NFS after all and Mirror's Edge Catalyst and not renew it after I am done with them. May be even try the new flawed sim city.

Uninstalled mirrors edge after around 15 mins. I would say first one was better. This is totally bland from the start.

@quan chi - I tried NFS yesterday and right off the bat I faced an issue - The car would not go beyond 50 mph and accelerated slowly. A youtube vid helped me fix that. You said the game could not be paused - should have mentioned there is no pause menu either and no way to quit the game except Alt+F4. To change any settings I have to restart the game and I couldn't even see the controller settings after the game starts. The game made me sit through the entire cut scene and if I make a mistake I can't restart the race but wait for everyone to complete the race and let the time run out and then it would automatically restart the race which was still better than quitting the game and restarting the race and watching the cutscene again. Also some idiot T-Boned me mid race and I quit the game.

I knew Mirror's Edge Catalyst was not going to be as good as Mirror's Edge but 15 minutes?

Seriously, is there any game in the vault worth playing? I am glad I didn't save my payment details on it so that it can't renew like PS+ does.

^^I didn't faced that issue & I don't know why you have to exit that way. You can bring the menu to change settings & exit normally. Like any other its the "esc" for keyboard & back & start from the controller.
The problems I faced were when playing at 4k (dnsmple) whenever I tried to exit, the game crashes in the end, The next bug is that car will jump to or fall to infinity & crash.

Found out yesterday. On the 360 controller I have to press the select button and not the start button. A common issue that I do face is, the game doesn't know if it wants to show button mappings for keyboard or gamepad. For example if it wants me to show the key mapping for receiving phone call it will show me the keyboard mapping for keyboard and when I press a button on the controller that switched to LB on the controller. The worse thing in the game is the distraction mid race - Phone calls from idiots like Spike and the others calling and the tutorial popups that block the view and blind you causing a crash or missing a turn. The drag race is another PITA as I can easily win with the car I have but I am left spinning my tyres while the other car is through the first checkpoint by the time my car starts to move. Seriously what were they thinking when they made the game. Also after the initial load I noticed that the logos on the side look a bit blurred but clear up and then remain that way. Don't know why it happens in the first place.

Conclusion - If you are getting Origin Access for this game then don't and if you have the Access or plan to get it DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS.
