Original or Aftermarket batteries for APC Backups pro 1000

So the battery of my APC Power-Saving Back-UPS Pro 1000VA has finally conked off after 3.5 years. It seems to be almost impossible to get a replacement battery that doesn't cost as much as the UPS.

Does anyone know of any after market batteries that are available/compatible?

In your local market, you can easily find Exide 7Ah batteries for 1200-1400 that would be a proper fit for APC. However, keep in mind that this would decrease capacity. 9Ah batteries will also be available but they are a bit scarce and not all dealers keep them stocked.

Thanks. Where did you get it from?
I got the Lifepo4 batteries from myinnovation.in. Robu.in and a bunch of other sites offer custom battery packs.
lifepo4 because it lasts 2000 charge cycles while the lead acid lasts 500.
I also have an online ups where no lead acid battery lasts even the entire year. tried both exide and amaron sla. Warranty cover with atleast those two battery companies has been problematic for me.

moglix.com is where i had bought lead acid batteries from. try to get it from a local dealer though, that way you have somewhere to go in case something goes wrong.

If you want APC batteries only, apc.estorewale.com

Thanks. Did you get it from this page or was it a custom design? Could you please share the cost?

I have a generator too but sometimes it does not come on automatically. I almost never use a "full charge" on the ups as the machines are set to turn off if the battery falls below 50%.

I asked for a bms upgrade on my unit. the normal is 24v 20amp continuous discharge = 480w. i asked him to upgrade it to 24v40amp bms. total cost for me for 24v 12ah was 5500/-

that's pretty good that you dont use the full charge. battery should last longer. You can do the charging cycle calculation to see what makes most sense for you. When you have a 9ah battery and you use it to 60% and then charge it back to full, use it again till it is 50% and then again till it goes from 100 to 90%. That's 40+50+10 = 100% or 1 full charge cycle.
Line-interactive ups only uses batteries when the power goes out, so either way, any battery you will take will last a long time.

I just got couple of Exides installed at a nearby battery dealer on this exact same UPS. Working fine since couple of weeks.
APC Customer care is shit so do not even look at the pricey original replacements.

Can you share the cost and the model number ?

Have the same ups and replaced them with Amaron 12V 9ah x2 two years back. 12av009 something. I saw an unofficial batterypack online for that ups with the same model. So, asked local battery guy to get the exact model but they turned out to be costly. Only problem, NUC/mini-pc on idle with 5-10W usage shows a runtime of 160 mins but lasts anywhere between 40 mins to 1 hour. Want to give another brand a try if/when these give up.

Sorry, unfortunately this was when I was back at home (diff city) and I do not recall the battery model numbers.
We have generator backup which kicks in within 5-10 mins (manual) so the UPS is to tide over that duration.
