OS is very slow

guys i am facing some problems with windows 7 , is it me rig or the os :/

like start up is slow :(
shudwon is slow :(
some applications take time to start :(

even when i try to install windows 7 for the first time it made me wait more the 7 min to go to the partation option :(

it is same for ubuntu to like when i try to install ubuntu from usb it gets detected fast by loading take more then 15 mins :(

and more over i recently my pc crashed due to unknown problem and after that my window 7 boost screen tuned like what vista use to have and even when using hibernate option the screen displays like dos boot and no animation :(

i run every thing like tune up 11 for the maintenance and it shoes no problem at all
and i have updates of each drives :) still this problem :(

and suggestions :huh:

Check whether you HDD connectors connected properly.

Remove CPU,GPU, RAM and plug them firmly.

Check all power cables connected properly.

Revert back the proccy to stock speed and see whether it's fast now.

If these all things don't work then

1.Scan for virus

2.Check your HDD for bad sectors.

3.Format your HDD(All partitions) and re-install OS.

Do above mentioned things and report back....

since i got my new hdd i had formatted it more the 6 times , reinstalled the os 4 times and still the problem is their :(

but hibernate option boot up faster :)

^ have you scanned your HDD for bad sectors and did you format all partitions ?

Windows 7 boot screen, that's not an issue now? Check them all first, see whether it's working fine. Then repair the OS(Yes, windows 7 is good at this), that's it, Your boot screen is back.... :D

@ OP: How much RAM do you have installed on your system?? And have you checked your HDD for errors??

hmm, run HDD check i suspect that...
 
Dude your siggy doesnt show any hdd, are you sure you using one??

anyways if you have two hdds try win 7 on another one. Or best is try one hdd at a time and you will get the culprit.
 
wd 500gb green is my os drive as i am not able to install w7 on my 160gb blue hdd due to some weared problem :(

What do you mean by this?
Are you seeing some other image than default boot image??
BTW looks like a HDD issue. As everyone suggested check you hdd for bad sectors/errors with windows check disk utility and HDTune.
 
You can change the windows boot screen using tuneup utilities.

Try using check disk command at command prompt, sometime windows slags due to errors in its file system. Also try a full system scan using some good and updated AV
 
apparently even i was facing the same problem. i tried changing my anti-virus and cleaned all the old files from the computer using cc cleaner. also defragmented all my hard drives. all the best.
