Hi,
After much of confusion, due to strict budget constraints, finally i will be getting 955BE (used) and Gigabyte 880GM-D2H ver 3.1.
I already have a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Ver 2 and one Cooler Master 90 CFM 120mm fan.
I am getting Seasonic 620W SMPS and NZXT Gamma.

I desire to OC the Proccy to 3.8-4GHz.
Now I need some help/suggestion before jumping in to the ring.

Can i go till 3.8-4GHz with that mobo and CPU cooler? (also have XMS3 2*2GB 1600MHz)
If mobo needs to be changed which one i should get ? (in max 4K - except MSI)
If CPU cooler needs to be changed which one i should get ? Actually my budget is 1.3K max but this is tempting me Corsair A50 @ 1970 (after 10% off on Master Card till 31st Dec)
Also which Thermal Paste to buy ?

Also how can i make sure that cooling in NZXT Gamma is best/proper using/positioning fan(s) ?
If more fan needs to be bought i can buy them too.

Regards,
Viral

Front -> intake
side -> intake or exhaust
top -> exhaust
back -> exhaust
should be an ideal setup for NzXT Gama

On side and top 120mm or 140mm ? and how many of them ?

Also how do one can understabd if fan is intake or exhaust before mounting it on cabinet. This may be anoob-ish question but i dunn know. :(

haha, there is a small arrow indicator, or airflow direction given on any side of the Fan you purchase. that's how you understand the airflow without turning on.
Also you can start the Fan and realise you can decide between intake or exhaust depening on how you place the fan
.intake - blows air in cabinet
exhaust - blows air out of cabinet

Also 120 mm fan will do fine
also number depends on you.
I would prefer a 90 + CFM fan on the front as intake
And exchaust on back.
placing a single or double fan 120 mm on top of cabinet also will help since hot air moves on top, and exhaust will efficiently ensure that.
Side panel fans depends if you can place them, Some put a huge cooler or have a huge graphic card that prevents usage of side panel fans
Also the top fans are subject to cpu cooler you are using.
hope that answers cooling related stuff :), ill personally be buying a nZXT gama ;)

the 955 can easily do 3.6-3.8.. just raise the multiplier:) a50 is equal to hyper 212.. that will easily be enough for 3.6ghz..

^^Is Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Ver 2 enough for 3.8-4GHz or should i get another cooler ?

Also what about Mobo ?

I think u r worrying too much... ive done 3.8 stable with stock HSF+Paste on 955BE... 4G easily with 212+ iff motherboard is good...

@Stable - P95 stable - 10hrs.

^^Ohk i will get good Paste as i dunn have any with me now but which is GOOD motherboard for 955BE to OC till 3.8-4GHz ? I have max budget of 4K +/- couple of hundred bucks but very strict one.

Well good motherboards as such for operating a high clocked Phenom IIx4 processor are --

ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO OR ASUS M4A785TD-V-EVO~ 4900/-(if you find these motherboards in the market) http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/26327-asus-m4a785td-v-evo-m4a785td-m-evo-am3-motherboards-review.html [the main difference between the two is that te -V is full-ATX board and -M is a micro-ATX board]

ASUS M4A88T-M LE / USB3 http://in.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/AMD_880GSB710 ~ 4600/- (the LE model will be cheaper but the PRO model is a better choice) [the LE doesn't have any heat-sink on the CPU power MOSFETS while the PRO edition has one, both are micro-ATX models.

Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H ~ 4400/- http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3635#ov (good board with a decent layout, also cheapest of the lot) [micro-ATX motherboard with a decent support for over-clocking, though lacks heatsink in the CPU area]

Hope this helps, Sire. Cheers!!

I am using ASUS M4A88T - M LE since last one year and its a decent mobo, of course the USB3 version is a bit costlier as well as better.....
