i have a XFX 650i ultra mobo with a e4300 proccy. and i want to overclock it. right now i m on stock cooling. can somebody plz explain the steps how to overclock it? plz explain step by step :S :S

y dont you check the earlier overclocking threads.

its been posted many times.

i did. but they did not give step by step instructions. i did try to configure it myself by going to the BIOS. i thought i would change the FSB from 200 to 296 as nj_gamer did but did not find anything like 200 or only FSB. there was this FSB QDR or something with value 800.

this is the reason i asked for steps.

thnx but no thnx

@ Deepak don't be sarcastic :-[ . i know what is google. i tried googling but it did not help. it gave me the same reply increase the FSB from 200 to x value

what i wanted was the second link(techtree review) that you gave me n i appreciate that.

Man you need help and getting angry on experts? that too on Deepak(the most helpful member in TE i have seen, since i joined?) If you knew what is google and how to search then you would have been able to find step by step instructions the way you needed it.

in the mobo fsb is written multiplied by 4.

so its written as 800 (200fsb)
if you want to reach 296 fsb then enter 296 x 4 in the bios.

Emm, wasnt trying to be THAT sarcastic, maybe a lil :P

Anyways dont directly jump to 300FSB, take it slow and easy...

Check the guide 200mph wrote in the guides section for his asus p5nesli (things remain more or less the same with the xfx

read the post carefully. i appreciated his help. And there is no doubt he has been very helpful to me as well as everybody.

@ Deepak thnx for your help m8 :) . wouldn't have bothered you if wasn't necessary.

arre both of u chill re, u dont see me shouting all over the floor do u

@koabs, all I was suggesting was do some experimentation, post some hit and trials of what u tried to do.

OC help from scratch isnt easy if the person doin the OC doesnt know what hes doin...

Look at nj_gamer (no offence m8) hes a noob at OC'in but still he tried and tried things himself, and even though he was unsuccessful countless of times no 1 said ki they had had enuf of it simply cause the fella was trying...

Its like what Morpheus said...I can only show you the path Neo, but you have to walk through the door.

deepak its nothing to do with you. you have been very helpful:hap2: .

here is my overclock results:

will try to push it further tommorrow.

Kya line maarela hai dost- waahh!!:ohyeah:

@ kooabs-
That's a very nice start kooabs- keep an eye on load temps too- which cooler?:P
Run Orthos to check for stability and to keep a note of max temps under load.
Please do post the whole screenie with cpuZ and Everest or TAT or coretemp or whatever you like.:)

BTW, add ur rig specs to rig gallery and/or your sig.:cool2:

dude use core temps .95 for the right temps of the e4300. i see you using .94. else simply add 15 c to the current temps.

thnx dude. let me mod it a little more, then i will post the pics of my rig:) i will do the cpu Z , but everest shows everything in text format like device manager.
which version shows in graphical format*(like cpu Z)?

lol you are wrong. .94 is proper for e4300. these are the proper temps.

if you use .95 you need to reduce 15deg. tjunction temps are of no use.

No offence mate :) ..I'll try helping this guy out :ohyeah:

@stormblast
I'm using core temp .95 and its temerature matches with everest, although speedfan shows lesser values...

Well, why don't ya update the mobo's bios?It kinda helped me with my OC..Go to XFXforce Graphics Cards | Computer Gaming Hardware Graphics Cards | nVidia graphic card | nVidia Graphics Cards | Welcome to XFXforce gamers graphic hardware community : home and get the bios and update ur mobo with it..I was able to get 1200 FSB on stock voltages which effectively comes to 2.7Ghz..Then run a stress test with OCCT for around 2Hrs and then run memtest for 3hrs(5-6passes).Then the stability test is done...What are your RAM timings?

got this combo .. e4400 @3150 mhz .. with 120 extreme .. now . what is the safe limit on vcore for this proci .. i am using vcore- 1.465v ..
vfsb-1.4 v and chipset - 1.5v .. are these within acceptable limits .. will be using hr 05 sli on chipset .. and memory - unlinked at 667 mhz

what it the max vcore for this proci with air cooling ?

your settings are totally within acceptable limits...with an Ultra120e you can easily go till 1.5V for vcore, do not increase your chipset voltage at all, though try and see if you can reduce it a bit till you get your HR-05

sure ..1.5v on proci is safe ? need to give 1.5v to chipset for stability .. i guess its within safe limits . isn't it .. got hr 05 sli .. just need to install it ..
