Packet loss/timeouts every 12-15 seconds

Hey all,

I have been getting very frequent (every 12-15 seconds) packet loss with my connection for the past 2 months. I have an Exatt 128Kb connection. By "packet loss" I mean the connection is completely broken (no data/information sent or received) for about 1 second, every 12-15 seconds. It's not random loss, it's very periodic. And it happens 24/7. This is extremely problematic when I play online games.
I have attached connection graphs from Quake 3 and HLSW. In each of the images you can clearly see a connection timeout. I have scanned for virii and spyware, they are not the cause of this problem. People from the sub-urbs on Exatt are NOT experiencing this problem so it is definitely some line problem at my end or something I guess.

What do you guys think the source of the problem is? This is quite annoying and the Exatt guys are clueless/useless.

EDIT: It's a PPPoE Connection.

Is this "packet loss" occurring only during playing games? Have you tried something like streaming music or something heavy data transfer wise?

What about downloads? have you come across corrupted downloads or some problems ?

It could be a line problem totally if its happening all the times not only for online games

Well, for downloads and browsing there is no noticable change. A brief timeout would go unnoticed. The connection is fine in all aspects. It's just that its got these inexplicable timeouts.

HLSW is a game server query application btw, digen. As you can see, its got a ping graph. Green indicating the connection is fine, red indication loss (just like the Quake 3 netgraph). I included those graphs so people could see the nature of the loss, ie. complete loss for a second. So it's safe to say that the timeout is happening all the time and not with just online games. This timeout occurs to ALL servers, anywhere... so the problem is definitely not related the server I am pinging. The timeout pattern is the same. So the problem is basically on my side.

The net guy came over today. He re-crimped the LAN wire. That wasn't the issue. Tomorrow he'll be replacing the hub/switch. Let's see if that makes a difference.
