------------
I'm a big Painkiller fan and had to give the game it's own thread... let's see how Overdose stacks up against Painkiller and BOOH.

is it a fresh big expansion or a whole new engine etc?

i just finished painkiller in trauma mode...going to start booh in trauma soon :D

If you play so much PK, we should play some MP sometime :P

From the screenshots, it looks like an improved "PAIN engine" that was used in the last 2 games... and I guess they're still using Havok 2.0 for physics.

Download on here, about 3 hours to go... gotta hit the sack soon, but I think I'll wake up at 6am to play it lol.

started downloading it, damn tata indicom is down now :@, else i would have got this demo in an hr. Now have to wait till tommorrow morning.

Hope i can play it @ decent settings in my card. This is a DX 9 game right??

It will play just fine, it's the same PAIN engine used in the last 2 games with some improvements... and as a result, it is DX9.

PAIN Engine = Awesome graphics without having to sell an arm and a leg to get a top of the line GPU. :P

I've got through a couple checkpoints, and here are some early observations:

1. Nightmare in OD is like Trauma (maybe it takes time adjusting to the new weapons)

2. New weapons rule, very creative indeed

3. Hardly any ammo available - you can't waste ammo, every shot has gotta count

4. While in the open, you will die standing in one place because fireballs fall out of the sky

5. Graphics and physics are pretty much the same as PK and BOOH, but I'm getting lower frames with OD

Some screens that I've taken... don't think I'll be taking anymore, having more fun playing:

Very cool. Always felt Painkiller was a highly underrated game (like Undying). Fantastic gameplay and the ability to allow anyone to strafe jump without having to do it the "hard" way. :)

Whens the full version out? And more importantly, when will this hit India? :ashamed:

It releases Oct 23 worldwide, but expect it to take 2-4 weeks before hitting shelves here... popular titles take a week, so this should take more.

Actually it would probably take more than that. The trend in India seems to be that only the successful franchises and highly anticipated games make it to the stores. The lesser known titles hardly make it here and Pain Killer falls under that catagory. I had a real hard time finding Legit versions of Pain Killer and BOOH.

The original Painkiller and BOOH took a little over a month to get here, so my guesstimate is based on that :)

the whole environment looks spooky although i like the whole engine and fast paced action and all i'm always scared to play painkiller.dont if its the blood or something its just make me feel like puking.
