I have a ps2 i bought in the states. It plays all ntsc dvds and games i bought there. Is there anyway I can make it play PAL dvds (movies) without opening the box? I kinda hate to lose my ps2 to some idiot with a soldering iron. Thanks
If its modded then u can do the following steps. It may work:
1) Put the Movie DVD in ur PS2 tray and switch off the PS2 so that u get a "RED" light.
2) Now, instead of pressing the Boot button of PS2 once, hold it and keep an eye on ur TV. While holding the button, ur TV screen will flicker once. Once it flickers, u can leave the button. Then, ur movie should start.

Anywhere, there's many ways. For one, it can be done with Datel's 'Action Replay MAX'.
I know, its a cheating software, but in it included is a feature called DVD Region X.
So just pop in the AR MAX cd (Make sure you get the NTSC version ofcourse, you may have to order it across ebay), select DVD Region X from the menu screen, choose the DVD's region, and then just put in the DVD.
