Palm Unveils Treo 680 Smartphone

The Palm Treo features a 320x320 color screen, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 64MB of user storage, Secure Digital slot, Bluetooth 1.2, VGA camera, VersaMail 3.5, Blazer 4.5 web browser and Docs To Go Professional v8.0 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF support).

"The Treo 680 is the smartphone for everyone. It's small, sleek, fast and comes in a variety of fun colors. It's a great phone design, great for messaging and email, and provides users easy and fast access to the Internet and to their favorite music and pictures, and makes it easy for people to manage and balance their business and personal lives while on the go," said Ed Colligan, president and chief executive officer of Palm, Inc.

Palm hopes to bring 20 carriers onboard for its new Treo 680 smartphone and it will be available in retail store and online in crimson, copper, arctic and graphite. The phones will be sold in an unlocked GSM version and will come complete with a 30-day free trial to Yahoo's music service.
