Gizmodo has the goods on Sprint’s upcoming Palm Treo 700wx. The latest Palm Treo brings Windows Mobile 5.0 in a Treo form factor to Sprint customers, a feature previously reserved for Verizon customers. It features a 240x240 display and boasts up to 4.5 hours of talk time. Sprint Mobile Broadband is supported as well as Bluetooth 1.2. The upcoming Treo 700wx doesn’t appear to support 802.11b/g as Sprint’s other PDA phone offering, the PPC-6700, though there is support for SDIO expansion cards. GPS is also supported as well. There’s no mention if the GPS is used for phone tracking or if it’s compatible with navigation software. Nevertheless the Treo 700wx also features a 1.3 megapixels camera with video capture capabilities, an MP3 player and speakerphone.
As always, the Treo 700wx has a miniature QWERTY keyboard. It’s also equipped with 128MB of memory with 64MB available to the user. Included software includes Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Picsel PDF Viewer, Internet Explorer Mobile, Sprint PCS Voice Command, On Demand, GoodLink and Messaging.
Availability is expected in early September. Pricing has not been set, though it may fall just south of the $500 mark.
