Probably because Mumbai attacks was by Al Qaida LeT and Pakistan is "accused" of shielding them (aka non-aggressive against terrorists in their land, heck the ISI is even training them mainly to be used against India) and these two countries don't have the best relationship and thus the possibility where a war between the two countries is very high, if India invades/try to invade Pakistan. Whereas Paris attacks by ISIS with bases literally everywhere and attacks anyone and everyone regardless of who or which country who are mostly non-muslims. And I thought that we were aware of all these.
^also this is another reason,

Even if its proved, no one will come forward for concrete actions against pakistan.

US will keep spoon feeding them and others along with India will keep tolerating them.

if Russia is to India then US is to Pakistan.

Who told you 'taliban' was a lesson ?
It was another glorious chapter in their book of successes.
This time, their agenda is inter-continental with a new tag, ISIS.
I think you misunderstood me. By "they", I meant the US intelligence agencies.

People are idiots if they think USA cares a dime about India, Pakistan or France. They are not some sort of global police either. They learnt their lesson during World War 2 that trying to say neutral and sticking to trade does not really work. So they are proactive about protecting their interests and protecting their borders from external threats. It does not matter to them where they need to meddle to do that to keep the trouble where it is. Approve or disapprove of it, that is how they do things. They try to keep trouble where it is or at least outside their own borders. And yes, even all that is nothing because if they really want to use serious force, they have enough nukes to obliterate the entire planet several times over.

People like to say that countries with internal troubles and conflicts should be left alone, but does anybody seriously think that when these kind of trouble makers finish in their own country, they will stop there? The world left Hitler alone the same way for a long time and look at the havoc it brought.

Its like cancer, once you have it somewhere in the body, You don't care where it is and you don't wait till it reaches some vital organ. You try to get rid of it before it spreads through the entire body

LOL
Lets be honest. They think India as a shit hole

Yes, lets be honest and while we are at it, accept that India is indeed a shit hole for all practical purposes and no amount of justifying and debating that some other countries are also shit holes changes the fact that it is still a shit hole.

When something bad happens to an Indian in US, Even if its a run of the mill robbery or something that happened due to one's own negligence, Indians immediately cry racism and what not, but at the end of the day, even without any public outcry, most of the time, all efforts are taken to apprehend the culprits and often are. How many foreign tourists get mugged, raped and/or killed when they come to India? It was a surprisingly huge from what I heard and police refuse to register complaints nor does it reach media (or at least get published). Both white people and black people and tourists in general are targeted in India for various sorts of crimes and other mischief. A tourist who went to file a complaint after getting raped in India was again repeatedly raped by several layers of the police hierarchy and then threatened into leaving the country. For all the bragging about Indians treating our guests like gods, the reality is no where close. For a long time, when I was in Chandigarh, every foreign visitor that came to our office were given safety advisories about India and particularly about Delhi and that was because every other day or two, somebody was getting targeted. What kind of perception does one get about the country when safety advisories have to be given about the national capital?

How many countries have such disgusting treatment of females right from the womb as in India, a country which is supposed to give a lot of respect to females. How may countries have rapes of 6 month old babies and toddlers on a pretty regular basis and still have the culprits escape without serious consequences?

Yes, every country has crime, but the sheer crudity and perversity of the crimes, lack of consequences, political opportunism over them and the worst of all, the disgusting way that people and the leaders try to justify that sort of thing before the world is not easily found anywhere else. To even try to fix something, the first thing that needs to be done is to at least acknowledge that some thing is wrong and our people vehemently refuse the presence of a problem or its seriousness.

Next, look at the extent of dishonesty and the lack of moral backbone. Despite all the bragging about our history, culture and what not about the so called ingrained values, why is that so many well educated Indians and often their parents (who are also educated) get caught shop lifting in US stores or other dishonest stuff so commonly? Same thing in India too. A highly educated couple in India with well paying jobs go to a jewelry shop to purchase gold and then steal some jewelry because an opportunity presented itself while they were there. Then when they get caught, they cover their faces and behave as if they are victims in a tragic story. How many educated american's get caught shop lifting (expect maybe for some homeless people or some poor migrants who do it out of necessity than anything else)

Same thing when it comes to jobs as well. Why is it that so many educated Indians are caught defrauding companies with regard to jobs in US? My sister's company in US does a background check only when they hire Indians. They don't usually do it for people of any other nationalities. Do you think it qualifies as racism or discrimination? It had to be done because Indians were the only ones that have consistently and repeatedly tried to defraud the company. They relaxed the checks and they immediately got 3 Indians pulling the same shit. Our country men are responsible for establishing that sort of stereotype. Their company is now contemplating legal proceedings against such candidates and the HR agencies that sends them.

Then there is the egoistic and self centered behavior as if the entire world should be centered around us and our country.
For instance, Why the heck should anybody care about who Sachin is? He may be a master in a sport (which btw is mostly played only in countries that were slaves to the British), but that does not mean that every body needs to know who he is. Its like excepting every body in the country to know who the Gilli-danda champion of your village is. Even that aside, why do Indians attach so much importance and make so much fuss about him. Its fine if you admire him as a great player of this sport, but there is no need to worship him as some sort of god. He got paid a lot of money to play his part and then he got paid a lot more for playing his part in the advertisements and endorsements. He earns a lot and still whines a lot about paying taxes and expects that he be exempted from taxes. Same thing about idolization of other celebrities and the cheap way people tend to regard with them.

People have to understand that the perception that American's or some other countries have about India is a direct result of the kind of cheap behavior that our countrymen have been regularly portraying to them both online and offline. Nobody but our own countrymen are to blame for convincing though their actions that our country is a shit hole. Our people leave no stone when it comes to display of ego and false prestige or other cheap behavior, but self-respect and respect for others is something that a lot of our countrymen lack.

Looks like you need a dose of "freedom" :p

On a serious note, your well articulated post brings out the heinousness of the human behavior which you have wrapped around/with the term "Indian".

Let's talk realistically here , do you think paedophiles don't exist in the US? Do you think Indian women are not raped in the US? Do you think Americans don't commit fraud? Do you think racism is not prevalent in the US? Ask yourself those questions first before maligning your countrymen!

more than caring what the west think of us & feel for us, i would rather we care about ourselves.

they are as fkd up as we are, just in different ways.

we dont need their empty sympathy & hollow words, what we need instead is when they advise us 'restrain and indulge in delicate diplomacy' we should to tell them to fk off & mind their own bizness while we go on to take care of our own instead of waiting for their approval

another factor not mentioned in the redit post is that we will always be looked on as 'not like us' how much ever we develop socio-economically is that, unlike the monotheist judeo-christian religions, polytheist Hinduism will always be viewed as a strange, pagan-like religion. its another reason why western journos are anti-Indian & have so much love for pakistan. that will be viewed as being anti-Muslim which is a big no-no; but anti-India & anti-Hindu is fair game. that's why for westerners (& their many many pseudo counterparts in india) terrorism has no religion UNLESS it's saffron. or why few stray incidents makes India "intolerant" but systemic racism doesnt make america so

ISIS was created to overthrow the governments of Syria and Egypt & had the USA backing since long. There are many sources available on the Internet wherein it is established that US agencies were hand in glove to "train the rebels" fighting their revolution and now it has bitten them.

Of all the exercises against ISIS only one man stands to gain on the world stage, that would be Putin.

With all the developed countries now in agreement to wipe away ISIS, the original plan of causing loss to Russia has failed as the previous regime of Syria and Egypt were more closer to Russia than the USA.

Do you think paedophiles can get away easy is US when they get caught. They are put in jail and even if they are let out, they are tagged and tracked for eternity. Do you think there are judges there who chide victims of domestic violence and saying that women should just tolerate all the violence and keep tolerating their abusive husbands. Do you think culprits in heinous crimes can get away by producing fake documents to show that they are 17 years old. How many places do you see people brutally tortured and killed on a regular basis just because they belong to some lower caste. Do you see protests against proposal for hike in fines for drunk driving. How many places are there where a lawyer goes on air trying to justify a rape. Where else do you see open male child guarantees for alternative conception medical procedures.

See this is what I was talking about. Its true that every country has its problems, but if you talk about problems in US, most of them acknowledge it, feel bad about it even if they don't see themselves being able to do something about it and there are also those who actively try to do something about it. There are at least some reasonable people there who acknowledge that there is a problem and that something needs to be done about it.

Now let's look at how you reacted. Instead of acknowledging that there is a problem in our country, you made light of it all by justifying that other countries have similar problems or that its a generic human problem even if the extent is no where near comparable and it looks like most people in India (even the educated ones) are like this. They get defensive and deny that there is a problem at all. Rapes are happening because of "western culture" or because people are eating noodles.

In several ways, our country is worse than even the Islamic State when it comes to treatment of women. ISIS treats their women like sex slaves, but they are radicals and terror elements and our country is competing with them and even worse winning in some ways.

UK had to amend its laws because Indian doctors were setting up shops for gender detection and abortions. they were commercializing female foeticide.

Still we never accept that there is a problem. When the British abolished Sati, there were rampart protests against it. In fact, one of the first things that RSS fought for after it got formed was to try and get sati reinstated. This is the kind of mindset we are talking about.

But no, we have no problems at all and there is nothing to worry about. We are light years ahead of every other country in our own little minds and women abuse is part of our culture and traditions, rapes are because of western culture, child abuse and slavery is just a means to let them learn a living, terror attacks are because of some external threats and not because of our own countries negligence towards security. There is no dearth of excuses to justify anything and there is always the "they too have it" excuse to make light of everything.

A country whose mindset is still stuck in the dark ages despite all its years of history and refuses to ever budge because we are after all the pinnacle of perfection in our little own minds.

Firstly, let me be very clear that you are comparing apples to oranges here. You are comparing fringe elements of one society with the civil society of the other. It is true that there are elements who justify all the wrongdoings, but this is also true that hordes protest against them compelling the authorities to serve justice.

Name one country in the world where the gun laws are so laxed that toddlers get shot in broad daylight. Where world renowned universities become a battleground, a killzone for a guy with a bag full of comics and a head full of videogames. Where in the world, do you see such a grave economic irresponsibility that one mistake forces the other half of the world to go into an economic recession.

Talking of women rights, the British didn't do jack shit about sati. It was under the aegis of a visionary I.e. Raja Rammohan Roy that the practice of sati was abolished.

You talk of Indian quacks and doctors who do abortion freely. But you don't talk about the world class medical fraternity available in our country which compels the america ns to throng in hordes to get their operation done in half the cost I.e. medical tourism. What's the use of a hospital which the general populace can't even afford?

You talk of drunk driving here, but you didn't mention the countless incidents of violent pursuits prevalent in the US which almost spans the entire state and helicopters have to be finally called to stop the menace.
Furthermore, the sex ratio and the sad condition of women in our society is slowly improving. Please refer the latest census data released by the government.

Anyways, my main point was, every society has its share of good and bad. Your post just brings out the evils of our society without pointing towards the good. With the education we get here, we take their jobs in their land. We can adapt to any situation and in any societal structure. Among all expats, Indians are the most in number in the US.

Oh and lastly, we are one of the fastest growing economies of the world. So please , before making an argument , consider both sides of the coin. I am a guy of numbers so I am attaching few graphs for your reference...

Idiots on free message boards!= a general nationalistic ideology!

I really want this to be true, but it's far from the truth these days. The successful campaign of Narendra Modi is a prime example of the level of importance social media has achieved today and it really scares me.
I see thousands of idiots posting pictures of cows and then people, both Hindus and Muslims, abusing each other in the comments sections. Those comments make my soul cry as to how educated people can be so naive and easily manipulated.
This aspect of internet really scares me because as more and more people throng to these social outlets, the more the chances of them getting brain washed. It has become so much easier for these politicians to reach this idiots and then fill their minds with rubbish to meet their own agendas.
