Folks,

Linux disk druid has caused havoc yet again. i tried to instll fedora 2 on my 80gb HD which has 8 drives.
I had XP in C and tried to install linux in D.
Whilst installing, i chose disk druid and it said it was unable to read the partitions cos of some bios stuff and so it asked erase data? I said yes, thinking it would erase from D alone, heck next screen shows, 76500 odd free space. i rebooted and it couldn't load any OS.

again i tried to install XP and found there were no partitions.
i just created one partition for 10 gb but haven't installed or formatted it yet.

Any possible way we can retrieve data from that HD?
TIA

i accdentally screw my dual installation of xp and vista so had to completely format and reinstall.

i was able to recover completely about 8 gbs of downloads.

you could try Active Partition Recovery...it does a neat job. I had the same trouble while installing Mandrake 10.1. The complete logical partitions were gone, but the software got it all back for me...i was worried about my 8 gb of music and 30 gb of installers :D

try it...here's the link...

Active@ Partition Recovery.Restoring lost partition.Recovering MBR.

I used the windows option since I had a partition left which had windows installed on it..maybe you might want to try the dos version. bst of luck
