Which of the above two is preferred.

I myself using partition magic but curious to try the opposite.

But before doing so, any users who have/are using Partition Manager please let me know your experiences.

To be honest, whatever you do, backup! Rest I never cared.

I am using GParted and find it very useful. Just download ISO which is free and boot to GParted. It has very easy GUI and even has option to format to linux file system formats if you want to use linux system.

Gparted- Linux platform

Acronics partition Manager- Windows

Use the default partitioning in vista/7 disk management , If that doesnt work then gparted all the way. Gparted tutorials are available on youtube in case you are new to it.
