Hello guys,

Even after hours of googleing and torrent hunts, I haven't found a free Partition Manager which can merge 2 partition together yet. :@

Here's the scenario,

I've downloaded the demo versions of the following:

Norton partition manager

Paragon Partition manager

7tools partition manager

EASEUS manager

Acronios parition manager

But none of this demo versions let me merge, And i'm not willing to pay for these software for a one time use

Please help me find a good free software to merge the 2 drives,(or any other alternatives)

The windows partition manager doesn't have an option to merge.

Thanks.

P.S- Dont be alarmed by the number of partitions, The HDD containting C:, D:,E:, F: will be uninstalled :bleh:

Use Gparted Live CD or get partition magic through Green Demon.:P

Backup all your data before attempting to mess up with your partitions.

@madnav: Tried-tested, Did not work :(

@thetechmind: Cute partition manager cannot merge partitions

@Macinstein: Will start an iso image download at 2am(i'm on BSNL home 500 :P) and let u know, Can it merge partitions?

It does have an option for that as far as i know but will it work successfully; well, i don't know.

I believe the problem is because you are trying to merge a logical partition with a primary partition. I would suggest you to make a backup of the K partition, delete it, and try to increase the size of the other partition.. No guarantees, but it might work. :)

^ +1.... This is the best way... Copy all data from (K:\) to any of your other partition & then delete it... But before increasing the size of (M:\) run disk defragment so that the data on M:\ is arranged at the start of the partition... Just to be safe....

Then use Partition Magic to increase the partition size... Use Gparted or Hiren's Boot CD which has the software....

First download the *ahem* Version of partition magic.

Next the issue lies in your type of partition. You are trying to merge a Logical Partition with a Primary Partition. You will need to convert one of the partitions. Then you can follow what HailStonE said in the previous post.

NOTE: Do backup everything before you try to merge it. Possibility of loss of data is quite good.

Hello guys,

Ok first of all this is a new HDD which had no data in it so there was no need to back up,

Like most of u said, I deleted the (formerly K:/ and M:/) opened the paragon partition manager and clicked on 'format partitions', It asked me if i want to create a single partition out of the two unformated partitions i clicked yes and after a restart, Voila! i have a single merged paritions

Special thanks to
