planning to get a 500 gb hard disk and windows 7.

Can i partition the drive after installing the OS, or is it a must to do it beforehand?

Win 7 installation will guide you through the first partition creation, I suggest you create all the partitions with the Win7 installation utility only as after the OS is installed the drive letters go hay wire..in some cases.

yes u can partition the derive after installing the os.....but during installation u have to creat atleast one partition

You can do it during OS mount, or do it after wards, through some options..! Its easy. I think you choose NTFS.

The only problem is that if you let Windows 7 create it will automatically create a 100 MB System partition
