I got my S3 in Aug 2012 and my roomate got the same in Oct 2012.

1. My Charger charges S3 from 10 % to 100 in 6 hours. Yes the figure is correct.
2. When I connect it using the USB to laptop it does not recognize my device.
3. I use an old age cable and it detects fine.
4. My roommate charger is in similar course and the charger takes 4 hours to charge the phone.
5. So i started using my Lumia charger.
6. And top the things, today It fell off from my bag. (Dont ask how :D).

Can anyone suggest both chargers?

1. Samsung one
2. Nokia Lumia one.

The chargers started to deteriorate when they were close to 1 year. They all work fine for first 10 months.

Look for the 2 amp chargers from Samsung, I think Note 2 and S4 use them, it charges the phone in 2 hours

I too have S3 - and I sensed some difference in charging time with S3 charger and Nokia Lumia charger.
I haven't checked out the exact timing though - but S3's charger seems much slower.

It's not 2 amp chargers, as I said in that topic the adapter itself doesn't cause any problem, it's the cable which is the culprit. A short, thick cable should do the job and look that if it has 5 pins instead of 4. Generally 5 pin cable should charge the device much faster than a 4 pin cable.

Did you try cleaning the USB port of the phone?

And find out using apps from play store if the phone charges at 1000 ma, else you might wanna clean d port with spirit... Helped me...

The problem is not with the phone. We are quite sure the problem is with the charger.

Have experienced the same problem with note 2. Culprit is the cable. Get a 'good' quality cable and problem solved.

P.S. An old micro usb cable would do that used to be bundled with phones 3 years back. :D:)

Yea the same cable is working for me also.[DOUBLEPOST=1379174247][/DOUBLEPOST]Update :

Went to samsung showroom. They told me this.

Buy the USB one as it will take less time to charge. (Agreed).
If you use the normal one it will swell the battery. (Me: But the standard one charges slowly so how can that swell the battery?)
No reply.

The one I got has output of .7A and the USB one is 1A.
