I had been ignoring this request for long, but of late it started messing around with my non-eBay payments, later on moving to my eBay based payments. Morons have put a 'review' on a transaction worth a mammoth 2.5 USD to prevent fraud. Ridiculous. Following this, I just added the information they required. Losers, but can't help it

For all Indian users of PayPal: The PayPal balance will automatically be withdrawn to the specified (primary) bank account on a daily basis.

The Purpose Code which has been mandated for while now, simply represents the reason for the transaction, as in the source of the foreign exchange (your PP balance).

It's not a problem per se, it's a flippin' restriction for all PayPal users in India, until PayPal addresses the existing concerns raised by the RBI.

Should i add my bank account details and what is purpose code ?

Sooner or later, you will need to add both these details.

Is it safe ?

Err...yes.

Like I explained above, your PP balance is simply withdrawn into your bank account.

Hope this helps.

What do i select in the purpose code ? I am rarely gonna use my paypal account

Is it really necessary for me to add my a/c details now ? because i see no reason for using my paypal account

After arguing a lot i have got my a/c in my name and not joint a/c :D

i dont want some shits to happen

^ It was some payment that I made on eBay.com, through PayPal. PayPal however felt there was something 'odd' about that transaction, and therefore put it on hold, and informed the seller he won't be getting the amount. They are yet to release the amount to me either - and it has been close to a week. This, after I have done transactions worth 1000s of $ through that account. Random behaviour from them really.

^ Thankfully, yes. And that reminds me I need to call up those morons. They have the WORST customer care on email. Across the world.

i have the same problem. i only have the 1 dollar in my account required to verify my cc and my cc also expired some months back. i tried to delete my account and it wont let me delete, always saying that some problem was encountered. useless site.

guys,

relax.

paypal is asking all these details for compliance with rbi.

RBI mandated that if you cant pay interest for funds hold in paypal account, withdraw them to indian account.

paypal refused to pay interest on funds hold in the account so its mandatory for them to withdraw all funds out to saving account.

so relax and put those details and enjoy safe payapl.

I just logged in into my account, and paypal seems to have credited the dollar back to my card number a few days back. i checked in my bank account, and it was credited to my card. so i took the opportunity to close the paypal account, which went without any hitch. :)

I think there's an option called Other Services, just choose that for now.

If you're not going to use PayPal, you don't need to add one right away.

No harm in adding your bank account to your PP profile. Nothing will happen without your approval, apart from the auto withdrawal of PP funds.

Which purpose code did you select? we cant exactly select other services, it has to be legal, business, accounting etc options inside other services section.

IF i only use paypal for making and not receiving payments can i continue to ignore these requirements?

My question exactly. Says now that my account is restricted in not being able to receive payments, so I 'think' that I should be able to continue making payments. I did in fact even yesterday and the day before.

It will detect that the card exists on an account and or you a message stating that an account has been created otherwise, upon completion

Cant we use a card which has never been registered with paypal, also a new account is created upon completion of transaction only if you tick mark on save the data and create an account.
