I was seeing to create a Paypal account.

Just on the Signup page, it asks for EVERY detail of the credit card. So does it mean that if someone knows the password of the paypal account, it can use the credit card to all its limit?

Is there an option or way to make it something like I need to enter the detail of the CC only when I order something and required that it needs to be entered again on 2nd order?
 
Ya generally the first CC gets charged $2 for verification to ensure the card is working all right. Later you can unlink the card. But if you want to add card again dont know if it gets charged or not.

Generally if you already have a CC linked and if you want to add another CC it doesnot get charged
 
I would like to know is there any Debit Card which is being accepted by Paypal. I believe there is none.

and which VCC is good? I am planning to open a no frills account for VCC in HDFC. Please Tell me HDFC VCC is accepted by Paypal?

Please Suggest some and let me know your suggestion.
 
instead of paypal on ebay or similar sites can i use my online banking account ?

if yes what are the differences ??
 
#swatkats - I know that Indian Bank MasterCard debit card works with PayPal. And HDFC VCC also works fine, but if you add too many VCCs to your account, they may limit the account. One or two purchases every few months won't be a problem.
 
#varkey are you saying Indian bank Master Card works with paypal just like that or you have it? Indian Bank has dual layer security just like other Banks?

No i wont be adding too much OF VCC. I have to make two payments per month to companies in USA.
 
^ My friend has it and he has made several payments using PayPal. Not sure about other variants of the Debit Card from Indian Bank, but the MasterCard Debit Card works.

Yes, every bank has the MasterCard SecureCode and Verified By Visa mechanisms.

Even 2 per month maybe a bit high, maybe two every 3 months is fine.
 
I would take an Mastercard from Indian Bank, but if it doesn't work. I will waste my money and time for closing & opening Account.

^ Well, two of my friends have the MasterCard debit card from Indian Bank and both cards works fine with PayPal, account was opened in Andhra Pradesh!

Why add VCCs to paypal ? To verify Indian Paypal a/cs you don't need a CC now.

When you pay for any product/service just pay directly with the VCC generated instead of adding it to Paypal & then paying.

I've been using VCC to pay my server bills every month since paypal blocked payments using account balance.
 
^ For payments for services etc it's mostly fine, but some eBay sellers may not accept payments from a non verified account. In those cases you'll have to add the card to your account and then make the payment, and adding too many cards will cause issues!

So it really depends on whether the recipient is willing to accept the payment from a non verified account.
 
^^ok. Whenever I bought from Ebay Intl. I paid using VCC, faced no probs. I guess it depends on the seller.
 
^ Ya, some sellers don't mind at all, but when you buy stuff like phones etc usually from personal auctions, sellers usually ask for payment from a verified account.
 
If someone transfers me some money to my PayPal ac, can I use it to purchase stuff from sites like eBay or will I have to compulsory withdraw the amount to my bank ac?
 
In India, you can't use your PayPal balance to make payments. You have to withdraw that amount to your bank account and use a credit card/debut card to make payments. That is the reason PayPal sucks for us Indians as we lose money because of the conversion rate that we have to pay or get paid at.
 
I have an Indian bank mastercard debit card and it worked in paypal but in my account statement i am not getting the code to verify the card in my paypal account. $1.95 got deducted from my account but statement does not show the 4 digit code.

can anybody help me on this.
