What is PC-BSD?

PC-BSD is a user friendly desktop Operating System based on FreeBSD.

Known widely for its stability and security in server environments, FreeBSD provides an excellent base on which to build a desktop operating system.

PC-BSD uses a host of popular open source window managers and uses a custom-tailored application installer that puts popular applications in easy reach of users.

BSD used to be relatively harder to install than Linux.
PC BSD has a GUI installer and seems to be targeted towards desktop users and certainly worth a look.

I'm using PC-BSD.. just make sure that you install it on a Primary Partition.. It won't install on a logical partition, although it can access them.. Secondly, PC-BSD comes with KDE 4x version.. if you want to get GNOME on it, then I suggest you wait for the PC-BSD 9.0 version..
