  1. What is your budget?
    • 60K+ ( can gradually add more components gradually)
  2. What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)
    • GPU - have 1050 ti - but that might be a bottleneck , with current gen hardware.
    • none
  3. Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)
    • non worth keeping anything.
  4. Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
    • CPU - Ryzen 5700x, may be? , open for 12/16 core cpu suggestion.
    • Motherboard - any build to last motherboard, ASUS, gigabyte, etc , will install 64gig RAM .
    • GPU - nvidia 3060 or something. ATI is my fave but lacks RTX so might opt for Nvidia only.
  5. Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component
    • Core fixed, RAM, HDD, etc can be added gradually over a period of time.
  6. Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City/TE Dealer)
    • Bangalore
    • Open to online purchase
  7. Would you consider buying a second hand hardware from the TE market
    • No for Core components. ( later will see for extended peripherals like HDD, GPU)
  8. What is your intended use for this PC/hardware
    • High-end 8k video editing & rendering - 70% usage, mostly as renderfarm node.
    • Games - average 15hr per week or so - but top end AAA games. ( only reason to install windows)
    • Video/processing rig - 24x5 operation.
    • Some code compilation+simulation.
  9. Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them and the reason for your preference/dislike.
    • Like ASUS - last motherboard lasted 15+ years., Not aware of present market situation. Open to suggestion. No ego, no e-peness attached to me. need VFM & long lasting.
  10. If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?
    • BR - fortnite, apex, etc should comfortably run at 200+ fps @1080p.
    • Other like witcher 3 , destiny, any game released in next 5yrs should be playable at mind-high specs.
  11. What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage
    1. Not sure. might get Asus proArt 27 inch display at later stage. or any other 4k display ( preferable 32 inch) - for main purpose. don't mind playing games at 1080p.
  12. Are you looking to overclock?
    • No,
  13. Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
    • For games : Windows 7 64 bit - for games ( if i can use win7 it will be best, as i never able to make myself like next generation, els will get ahemed version of win10)
    • Day-to day works: Linux- Lubuntu ,

This is going to stay on for 24x7x365days, Low power rig is preferred (eg - 65-90w CPU ) & As silent as possible.
I will opt for non RGB/disco-lights ( can and will disable RGB LEDs if forced).
This desktop will be placed in a room where someone sleeps as well, so lighting is not preferred at all. only light should come from the monitor screen.

Bangalore - so I have massive dust issues. please suggest for cabinets like keeping this in mind.
I liked this cabinet https://www.electrobot.co.in/product/2669 . but few reviews says it too small to house modern days GPU and it suffocates components.
@SunnyBoi is that true ?
I will definitely look for smallest form-factor. as minimalistic as possible. Finalized

Pricing is +/- 50% flexible - although lower is better.

CPU Option:
1. Ryzen 7 5770x , etc or wait for 7000 series ?

CPU Cooler:
1a. Is this cooler good ? Deepcool AK620 ., https://mdcomputers.in/deepcool-ak620-r-ak620-bknnmt-g.html

2. Dark Rock pro 4, https://mdcomputers.in/be-quiet-dark-rock-pro-4.html -- seems Huge in size? will it fit in mATX cabinet like SilverStone PS15 ?

Motherboard: ( no wifi required, i would rather have 10gbe port)
1 - got this, a non disco light mobo, hxxps://www.asus.com/in/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/Workstation/Pro-WS-X570-ACE/ ,
But it has integrated Vaga graphics, is irrelevant / overkill for my use case.
2 - MSI - any good ? here is non rgb - hXXps://www.tomshardware.com/news/msi-announces-meg-x570-unify-motherboard,40588.html

Wait for the 7000 series. A CPU matters quite a lot too when it comes to video editing. I would say the 7000 series would sort of "future proof" you a bit more.
yes, im getting this suggestion for from everyone.
Indeed its better to wait and go for AM5 socket/DDR5.
Plus GPU prising are crashing like anything. all signs are suggesting me to wait.

I am planning to wait 2-3 month.
I can wait maximum till december mid.

I would recommend looking at Silverstone Fara H1m or Deepcool Matrexx 40 for cabinet. The one you have selected doesn't have space to stash extra cables, so it may get messy, unless you're getting a modular PSU.

Thank you for the suggestion.
If you have any other suggestion please do let me know as well.
PSU not decided yet, waiting for 27th sept for new cpu pricing, then will select motherboard , and later PSU.
One thing is sure that cabinet will definitely see few GPU upgrades in it lifetime, don't want monstrous towers, but also don't want want my components to suffocate :)

Hi

Wait for 7XXX if you can wait. or 5950x or 5900x is coming very cheap nowadays. (used) For your need more core helps.
Mobo does explore Gigabyte Vision D Series, and Thunderbolt 3 with 40GB/s helps with your work.
Stick to Nvidia GPU, in my opinion, if you can, and yes, you will get great deals now

I just bought the h1m btw. I don't have a lot of experience with cases, but fwiw it has good build quality. However, it's really cramped and mounting a sata ssd is a royal pain unless you remove the front fans and cables first. Similarly the hdd cage is cumbersome to work with. You have to hold it in place precisely with the heavy hdds installed while you screw in 8 screws from the bottom of the case.

This is not a case you want if you're going to be using 2.5" or 3.5" drives. They put space for that, but it's too cramped. I'd recommend using a case this small only if you're going to be using the M.2 slots on your motherboard exclusively.

Thanks for pointing out.
The selection of cabinet seems tough, i am exploring many option. but stil unable to find one with smaller footprint. now a days there is no honest review/opinion online.
I wanted to go with an ITX , but that form factor doesn't seem to cater my all needs.

In my dead pc, I had four 3.5" HDD with production files, i definitely wish to reconnect them on my new rig, before phasing them out gradually, so need some non suffocating space for 4-6 HDD.
Plus CPU cooler, I have made my mind to either go with deepcool 620 or bequite dark rock 4 pro. (based on the price when i make the final purchase.)
using the M.2 slots on your motherboard exclusively
1 nvme drive just for the boot/app. more m2 = using PCI bus, not good. i will mostly use sata SSD/HDD

The PS15 cabinet looks nice, but won't fit most 120 mm fan tower coolers, because its cooler height restriction is 150 mm. I would like an mm or 2 gap between side panel and cooler to prevent vibration.

I'm also planning a mATX case for my AM5 build next year, but most of them are barely missing to support a decent cooler by a few mm.

For HDD, I too have this problem of having a few HDDs : for a smaller case, we might have to either :
1. Get a powered USB enclosure, connect them one by one when needed.
2. Mount HDDs using 2 sided tape
Both are far from ideal, but newer cabinets, especially smaller ones, don't support a lot of HDD slots.
