You could go with the 15k Budget PC - TE PC Buying Guide

^ And maybe rope in a AMD Athlon II X2 240 with it ...Not much in the 15k range other wise...or you could look at Used alternatives..

I think a 1.5K PSU is not needed for this rig....

I can invest that in a better mobo+proccy....plz suggest a 2.5K mobo from asus for AMD X2 240....!!!!

Component Description Price

CPU AMD Athlon II X2 240 2800

Motherboard Asus M2N68 2100

RAM Transcend 1GB DDR2 800MHz 1000

ODD LG GH22NS50 900

KB + Mouse Logitech PS/2 Combo 550

HDD WD Caviar Green 1700

Total 15550

I dont think It can be further tweaked :death::down:

-Go with the 17" - 5k - Mate going in with a 19" will be at 5.8k which again shoots up the already overshot budget ...

-ASUS A.S.S can be a big PITA ! - Gigabyte M61PME-S2P will be a good choice for the build

-CM 310 comes with a PSU Option @1.5k I guess - If yes then take that.

any mobo near 2.5K

1)Biostar A780L3 ~2.9K

2)Asus M2N68-AM PLUS ~2.3K

3)Gigabyte GA-M68M-S2P ~2.2K

My preference is ASUS

which 1 is better of these 3?

And which chipset to go for ?

is 780G chipset costlier ?

plz suggest a gud vfm mobo within 3K (required is ddr3 support and descent graphics )

gigabyte GA-740GMT based mobo is DDR3 which retails for around 2.5k..go for gigabyte if not then stick with biostar 780L...there is also board msi 770C45 which is based 770chipset which retails for around 2.7k..

This is a good config for 20k. As u are gonna use it as DL rig its better to go with a decent SMPS/PSU even though this is a sub 20k rig.

any other thoughts on the config ?

I have to buy it today or max tomorrow....

I think This discussion concludes to

Still confused for Cabinet+PSU. I want a sturdy cabby like CM310 Elite (1500/-)

but with that, PSU (1500/-) makes this combo 3K, is there any descent cabby+PSU(350W) combo at lower price ?

And also, the biostar AM3 mobo is gud or ASUS M4A78LT-M-LE

what is it's price ? Is it near 3K and shud I take it ?

^^

ASUS M4A78LT-M-LE ~ 2.9k (IT-Wares)
Biostar A780L ~ 2.7k (Prime ABGB)
Gigabyte MA74GMT-S2 ~ 2.7k

===Go for the ASUS Board===

-Better Specs
-Better Quality (Compared to Biostar)
-Better Chipset (Compared to Gigabyte)
-Sad A.S.S - Rashi -- This is the only Downfall
But then overall this is 200 rupees well spent. period.

Bijili (1k) + FSP Saga II 350W (1.5k) - 2.5K Makes for a decent combo.

Overall config would now look like this (since you have given the budget a 5k boost) :ohyeah:

Component Description Price
CPU AMD Athlon II X2 245 2800
Motherboard Asus M4A78LT-M-LE 2900
GPU Onboard Radeon 3k
HDD WD Caviar Green 500GB 1700
RAM Corsair Value RAM 2GB DDR3 1875
Case Zebronics Bijli 1000
PSU FSP Saga II 1500
Monitor Dell 1709 5000
KB + Mouse Logitech MMKB 650
ODD LG G22HNS50 850
Speakers Creative A35 450
UPS Numeric 600VA 1000
Total 19725

Compromised on the Speaker - Downgraded to the SBS A35
Put in a WD Caviar Green Instead of Seagate
Added a 600VA UPS

Sir : M4A78LT-M LE @ 2.9k

@HD Audio Chipset : There will not be much of a difference imo . Just that asus has a lot of viacom chips in the starter section of its motherboard arsenal. I believe the previous gen of viacom sound chips but afaik the newer drivers have it all sorted out. The source is a Creative SBS A35 - So I dont think the OP will have issues with it . But if someone really wants their sound to sound right ...then getting a cheap Audigy will not do any harm.
