My Vista running laptop randomly had all of these error messages pop up and all of my data seems to be gone kinda. The messages say that the hard disk is unreadable, Hard drive speed decreases by 20%, damaged hard drive clusters found, hard drive space less than technical limits, ect. I don't know a ton about computers other than this is not good. But the weird thing is I am on that computer now, I can't find any of my files but I can run programs like firefox (and all of my bookmarks and everything are still here). All of my icons on my desk top are gone and when I open the start menu it doesn't even give me the option to go to my computer or to my personal file folders such as music and pictures and documents. I just want to be able to get my files off the hard drive. And I don't know how I can still surf the internet and run programs if the hard drive is unreadable. Any help is appreciated and if you need more info let me know thanks a lot in advance.
 
did you scan your laptop using System Recovery software? these error messages are very fishy and extremely false in nature. Do not buy that software cause it wont do any good.

What you can do is

Run Rkill - to terminate known running malware processes.

After its done its job, Download Malwarebytes and run it to delete and clean off malware from the computer.

IF by any chance it cant completely remove the malware in normal mode, just restart your computer and press F8 key repeatedly while computer restarts to get to boot options. choose safe mode with networking. then run the programs again.
