Thanks for the reply had to postpone this due to high gpu prices. GTX 1060 6 GB's are costing around 35K. RAM prices are also adding salt to the injury. Looks like now is really a bad time to build gaming pc.

You can go with AMD Ryzen 5 APU for the time being and add any GPU later on when the prices come down. Until then you can play any game in 720p resolution.

Just make sure that you are getting dual channel memory.
 
Sorry I forgot to mention this will be a Gaming + workstation build. For whatever reason I'm missing the edit button on my first post. I was considering Ryzen 2400G, the GPU part is really good for an iGPU but the CPU part worries me. Since I'll be getting a dGPU wiil the iGPU even matter ? Also Ryzen prices have dropped quite a bit, R7 1700 at 20-21K has really made it a lucrative buy but I can't get my hands on a GPU **** cryptocurrency. These are truly desperate times. :mad:

Dual memory is not a 'good idea' but a 2400mhz dual channel kit will beat a single module @3000mhz. So, if one is going with the Ryzen APU build the dual channel is strongly recommended.
 
Guys... I'm going to buy a ryzen 2400g tomorrow.. exact config sunil has posted... which dual channel memory should I go for and what is the price... I have heard things like CL 16/CL14, hynix die and samsung die etc etc. So which dual channel high mhz ram would be suitable for a 2400g???

If you're buying 2400G then definitely go with dual channel memory. The Raven Ridge APU does not perform well with single channel memory. Here are some benchmarks- https://www.techspot.com/review/1574-amd-ryzen-5-2400g-and-ryzen-3-2200g/page8.html

Are you going for the GC as well? If yes, then i would recommend Ryzen 5 1600 , it is much better processor
