He would need 8GB sticks as he wants the ability to upgrade to 32GB ram.
Not sure if you need a lot of processing power, why not get a 6th gen i5 and use faster memory, be on the newer platform

Thanks folks. Not much in sync with latest news/prices.

Any specific shops you suggest in Bangalore?

A thought - how about i5-6500 + 16GB DDR4 memory? I will later upgrade to 32GB, but don't think I have finances right now.
What compatible motherboard will it require?

Processor Intel i5-6500
Motherboard
Please suggest options
Memory
16GB DDR4 (8 x2), which brand?
CPU Cooler - Is it required or is the stock cooler enough? I am also worried about this:

Max budget is 45K, unfortunately not in a position to extend more. Average usage will be like 12hrs/day.

Can this config come in 45K? or else I will revert to i5-4460 option with DDR3.

Thanks for your valueable inputs. :)

not sure about the motherboard, but the 6th gen chips dont come with a cooler IIRC, so you will need to buy an aftermarket one. You should be able to get it in 45-48k.

i5-6500 comes with HSF so you won't need any third party cooler. If you can spend 6K more (I know you mentioned limit of 45K above), I would suggest going with i5-6500.

i5-6500 ~17,000
Asus H170 Pro ~11,000
G-Skill Ripjaws V Series 2* 8GB DDR4 2133MHz ~8,000
Seasonic S12 II 520 ~5000
Samsung 850EVO 250GB ~8,100

Above totals to apporx. 49,000. Add cabinet of your choice for couple of grands.
