Whenever i try to copy a file downloaded off youtube to a another drive/USB the pc hangs and explorer starts to eat up CPU resource upto 100% within 10 seconds it happens only when i try rename , copy those files ? What could be the reason I ran Anti Virus check nothing came out ?

...you sure only FLV?

1. Try copying some other large file to that folder.

2. Try copying the FLV to a different folder, if possible different disk, even usb would do.

Just wanna isolate some of my concerns,

would be able to help you better if you could tell us what happens when you do the above two.

Thanks a lot.

Can be two things.

Your antivirus checks for a file renaming pattern as a virus hence triggers a virus scan.

Your HDD might be fragmented with data or the data is going corrupt across certain sectors which is causing increased load times and hence stressing your CPU.

what are you using to download the flv files? maybe its broken and denies access to the flv files even after completely downloading the file and writing it to disk.

Use Process explorer to see what has handles open on the file.

Run Process Explorer, then in Find box, type name of your flv file and it will show all handles open on that file. Close the find window and in the main window, you can right click and close the process that has locked the file (if any are present). You can do this while trying to copy or play the flv file too to know what processes are accessing the file. If you dont know what is giving problem, paste screenshot of the program here, and maybe we can help.

+1 for Process explorer. However it is likely that explorer.exe has the handle open on that file. If that happens to be the case, we will have to use latest dbghelp.dll, configure symbols server and look for the threads with most CPU cycles to get an idea.

I tried Process manager could not find any dodgy.

Is there anyways i can revert all my Windows 7 Settings to default ?

I think this is an issue with the codec manager. What codec manager are you using (K-lite, etc)? There's an option for thumbnail, in it that does the trick. Check it out once.

i have same issue before, in W7 i reinstall the codecs now i have only W7 shark codec ,if you want install k-lite media player and w7 codec try first installation of k lite then w7 shark codec.

or

if you want to download from youtube open the link of your video just copy the url while it is opening ,go to keepvid.com

paste the url click on download you get list select anyone.

cccp codec pack. suggesting this since you have mpc already installed on your pc. just uninstall all other codec packs first. even mpc if its not latest one and divx codecs. else there might be some issues between two codecs which can handle same file.

or just use a media player that uses its own internal codecs like videolan or mplayer.
