How come you are having a C2D and a DDR1 RAM :S

CPUID

Use this and post the exact Processor and Mobo details.

If u have a decent proccy and a DDRII mobo then a RAM, GPU, PSU and LCD upgrade should do fine. You dont have to upgrade your proccy and mobo for ur needs

RAM: 2GB Kingston DDRII 800MHz - 2k --> Sethia Infotech, Chennai

Monitor: Dell 18.5" 1910IN - 6k --> Sethia Infotech, Chennai

GPU: Sapphire HD5670 512MB DDR5 - 5.7k(DX11 GPU future proof) --> Mediahome.in, TE dealer

PSU: Seasonic S12II 380w - 3k --> TheITDepot, Chennai

Total: 17k~ Save the rest :D

Or add a WD 500GB Blue AAKS - 2.5k/ WD Green 1 TB - 4.3k if needed.

@karthi007

hey i'm no using my sys currently. This is my frnds pc. he is also planning to upgrade. I will provide his current config. Can you pls provide relevant details for the same information I have given above. same budget same requirements.

His pc is :

Intel D processor 2.66

D101

512 MB DDR1 RAM

nvidia 256 MB graphics card

80GB HDD

pls suggest a quote for the same requirements i have said. And almost the same purpose as well.

And is the Sapphire HD5670 512MB DDR5 available in market or will it be available by feb end or march

And, is it possible to have a DDR 3 RAM with core2Duo with boards like

INTEL G41 DG41KR 16x,V,S,L,DDR3, HDMI

INTEL G41 16x, V, S, L, DDR3

------------------

Hey I also came across this config in www.techbargains.com. In that they have given a config:

Intel Core i3-530 Dual-Core @ 2.93GHz; 4GB RAM; 320GB HDD; DVD burner; gigabit; Windows 7 Home Premium; CPU-based graphics; 1yr warranty

Reference link:

http://www.techbargains.com/news_displayItem.cfm/196030

is this a good config or is there anything else better!!

Price : $529 == Rs. 25k approx

Processor: AMD AthlonII X2-240 - 2.85k

Motherboard: ECS A785GM-M3 - 3.2k

RAM: Kingston 2GB DDR2 800MHz - 2.1k

GPU: MSI 1GB HD4670 DDRIII - 4.5k

HDD: WD 500GB Blue AAKS - 2.5k

Cabinet: Zebronics Bijli ATX w/ bundled 400W SMPS - 1.1k

SMPS: Zebronics Pro 350w - 1.5k

Optical Drive: L.G. GH22NS30 SATA/Samsung SH-S22F SATA - 1.1k

Monitor: Dell 18.5" - E1910 IN - 6k~

Keyboard+Mouse: Logitech MMKB Combo - .7k

If ur requirements are not urgent would advise u to wait sometime to get a upgrade so that the DDRIII mobo prices reduce.

Yes the MSI GF615M-P33 is an option but i would recoomend a 3-4 yr old architecture just because it has DDRIII slot. It is also a HT1.0 mobo.

One option is getting a

Intel E5300 - 2.9k~

GA-G41MT-ES2L - 3.3k (2 DDRIII DIMM slots, X4500 graphics)

But then LGA-775 is also EOL but still it rules the market.

It wont get too many processors in the future. Its your call to wait or get a old architecture(MSI Nvidia6xxx board) or Intel LGA-775.

I would prefer to wait 1-2 months so that the AMD 785G boards with DDRIII prices comes down to a 3.5-4k range. Now the min. price is around 4.6-4.7k~

@karthi007

thks for ur response and suggestions.

I just want to know whats the difference between athlon and phenom.

Is any off these a quad processor. If not, which is a quad processor in AMD.
Which is efficient for future and old gaming and other multitasking stuffs.

AthlonII X4630 (2.8Ghz, 4 cores) - 5.2k from delta peripherals chennai. -> The most VFM quad core processor in the market. Get this one instead of the older AthlonII X4620 which is 2.6Ghz and can get it for few bucks lower but it is 2.6GHz only

The PhenomII has L3 Cache which the AthlonII X4 lacks. But it should matter much for the games u play and the resolution u play at.

www.deltapage.com --> Chk this site for indicative Ritchie Street prices

ok which mobo and graphics card (nvidia or Ati, whatever may be the processor which is good in performance) suites well for Athlon X4 630 (2.8Ghz, 4 cores).

I guess it would support ddr3 ram as well. And, it should be a better option for future upgrades for up to 5 years. Is that right?? And in the delta peripherals website there is no GPU called Sapphire. Is it available in market Sapphire HD5670 512MB DDR5.

And, with the AMD process,mobo, will there any issues like overheating or anything of that sort. As i would be using PC for 8 to 10 hrs at a stretch sometime more than that. Should I use a cooler fan??

May be they dont stock Sapphire. Sapphire is ATI's premium partner.

HD5670 is out in the market. You can get it from TE dealers. Chk this thread.

Ya it supports DDRII as well as DDRIII depending on the mobo u get. Gigabyte MA78GMT-UD2H - 5.8 is a good DDRIII board.
ECS A785GM-M @ 4.8k is a cheaper alternative. I dunno about Ritchie Street availability. Rashi is their distributer. Its the same comp that handles Asus mobos.
