All of a sudden when I tried starting the pc, it won't just start. It powers up for say a couple of seconds and then just powers down.

I reapplied thermal paste. Isolated the hdd and fans. Even removed the fans.

Is it the power supply or CPU or motherboard.

Please suggest.

check the power, SMPS or this can all be happen by RAM, just remove and use it in another slot and vice versa

I reapplied thermal paste so temp may nt b the issue. Before the OS even starts the system powers down

. No chance of even checking bsod if present. Psu is corsair 450 watts. Rams were interchanged wit other slots as well. No go

u can try removing the motherboard from the case and placing it on some non conductive surface and then just connect smps, cpu and ram

start the mobo by placing a flat screwdriver across the 2 pins where you usually connect the switch?

then post the results

Sometimes just resetting cmos fixes these issues

Hey guys thanks for the replies. I actually just removed the psu and tried the paper clip test where the psu failed. So now need to get it rma'd. Btw its corsair vx450 and I misplaced my bill, can it still be replaced ? And when will it be replaced since it is under warranty period.
