Back into PC's and upgrades after a looooong time. I want to try gaming @ 1920 res with high or ultra settings, so I'm planning to Upgrade the core after 4years to keep up with the newer games. After reading multiple guides and charts shortlisted the i3 2100 and Z68P combo as they seemed to give the best bang for buck. Not quite sure if I should go for a 6850 or try crossfire of two cheaper cards. So what do you guys think?

Intel i3 2100 ~6,200/- OR i5 2400-10,500/-

Intel DH67BL-B3~5400/-

Corsair Xms3 2X4GB 1333mhz-3400/- or Gskill Ripjaws 2X4GB 1333mhz-3500/-

Seasonic S12ii 620W-4600/- OR Corsair TX650V2-5200/-[Sell your current VX450 and get one of these psu's which are future proof]

Combo Logitech K200-700/

For gpu i'd suggest you to wait for Amd HD7850-16,000 launch in india,in a few weeks time it'll be available in the market.

Overclocking rig will go out of your budget so i've suggested the best for you.Hope this helps.

thanks Jakob..dont think the hd7850 would come under my budget..any other idea? OC rig is 2ndary compared to gaming.. i havent really oc'd since 2008/9 or something.. already have a mx518 and a logitech keyboard along with senheiser eh150 headphones and an altec lansing 2.1 speakers...i'd be retaining those too..

Total of the above rig is 19.5k so if you sell your VX450 for 2.5 or 3k then you can get HD7850-16k total will be 32k so little here and there and you'll have an awesome gpu which will last for 3 years.

o_O wasn't aware that a 4year old PSU might sell for that much lol.. will wait a while for hd7850 then.. what would be a good backup choice if not the 7850?

which board would you suggest in case to oc the cpu?

Well don't know about that, rather than that go for Asus or msi P8Z68M-PRO

came across it while browsing boards in newegg and found indian cost was around 10k. seemed like a beefy board with decent features and specs. will be going to ritchie st tomorrow to check out prices and maybe get everything except the gpu and psu

we do get ASROCK mobo's in market. They're generally not much recommended. earlier They used to offer 1year warranty, now they are offering additional 1yr. Asus Z68 Mb are quite good for ocing. If you dont like them you can check out Gigabyte z68 Mobo's.
