I've been trying to find out what can be used/fixed in the remaining PCI slots :-
1. Sound cards :- for professional sound quality.
2. Graphic cards :- for high-end work.
3. Network/LAN cards (Ethernet) :- To access a network in the range of 10/100 mbps.
4. TV/Capture card :- To capture TV channels
5. RAID cards :- Used in corporate settings for backup/mirror
6. Wireless cards :- There are wireless (Wi-Fi) cards also used to access the net. Only downside needs an access point
7. GPRS modem cards :- need clarification here
Especially looking for solutions where PCI cards used with mobile phones or otherwise to acess broadband/net. Anybody knows anything? The PC is a celeron 1.1

rather than PCi card i will suggest to get a broadband external modem ...... and very few graphics cards come in PCI flavour only few lower end ones ..... and getting them herer is also tough job ....

While I don't know what your question is:

1. Soundcard is a good decision - onboard audio sucks on all boards today

2. PCI is very different from PCI express... PCI graphics cards are available but are super-low-end ones with 8 or 16 or maybe even 32mb onboard memory. Your onboard video will be better than then ;)

3. If your board has an ethernet port, stick with that... it's different if you have a wireless router and you want to add a wireless ethernet adapter

4. TV tuner card makes sense if you're going to watch TV on your comp

5. If you want a RAID setup, yes

6. See #3

7. WTF???

Your last comment is unclear, but if you want to hook up your mobile phone to your PC, use a bluetooth dongle (assuming your mobile is bluetooth enabled).

wow, cool guys, I just got my hands on the D-Link product guide & it has all the details. Thanx anyways guys

AFA the GPRS Modem cards I seem to have mistaken, most of them are either on RS-232 or USB, although I did saw a couple which were on PCI slot also but seems to be a rare case.

zhopudey, what I was simply asking for was how many different cards can be used on PCI slots, got the D-Link product guide (they're into networking) which lists all the PCI based- cards which can be used to network between machines. The only cards it didn't mention are the sound & graphic cards but that's not their domain.

The Second thing I was stating is the GPRS modem cards. Just google for it & u'll come to know about them. Although these cards seem to be more geared for laptops. Sorry for being cryptic :)

true but do like to know the extensibility of the m/b to what it can be used for. The mods can close this topic as I'm satisfied with the answers I was seeking. Thanx everybody for sharing know-how :D
