CPU/Mobo PCI-Express 1x is important ?

Hi all, this is my first post on TE.
I want to buy Rs480M2 and it fullfill my requirements well.
But the only thing is bugging me is the lack of pci e 1x slot, which this mobo doesn't has.

So, why pci e 1x is so important and what kind of cards will emerge in the market, which will support pci e 1x and not normal pci ?? I have no idea !!

Can someone explain !

Thanx in advance.

PCIE 1x slot is not that important as all the periperhals cards will take time to switchover, maybe the only periperhal that might benefit the extra bandwith is the firewire card..

The next creative sound card would most definitely be PCI-E x1. For hardware DD encoding, the PCI bus bandwidth ain't enough. Also RAID/SCSI/TV capture/Gb LAN cards may see benefit from the extra bandwidth. Even though currently we don't have any PCI-E peripheral, sooner or later they'd arrive and u'd be left stranded if you dont have an x1 slot.

Another peripheral would be Gigabit LAN cards as well.

Aces is right, will take some time for PCI Express devices to start showing up.
