PC Peripherals PCI SoundCard startup problem

i've p4 2.8 & 865 m'bord

i just got a new Creative 5.1 Ext PCI SoundCard

i disabled the ON-BOARD sound from BIOS b4 installing the new onw.

But, when i fixed the card in one of my PCI Slots, the system starts but thers no DISPLAY, The HDD LEDS glow as if HEAVY LOADING is goin, even the system doesnt SHUTS-OFF thru the cabinet button. :@

I tried Default bios settings, another PCI Slots, even @ Friends computers....but same things happen as above.

never heard of that :S external soundcard with PCI interface?? hmmm...... :tongue:

IIRC, external soundcards = USB only......

BTW, what happens if u remove the soundcard and boot??? will it boot properly???

sorry ext means not onboard but pci

yes when the card is removed everything work properly as b4 but weird things happen only when it is plugged in
 
If its having trouble in your friend's computer as well, the best bet would be to take it back to your hardware dealer and get it checked/replaced.
