Storage Solutions PCI to SATA/IDE

Ok Guys, I just have 4 sata ports in my motherboard but have around 6-7 sata hard drives and would like to have all of these connected to my system at all times.

Obviously, don't wanna use USB as the speed is restricted.

Only 2 SATA ports + 2 IDE devices will work at once. You can get it from SP Road itself (with VIA chip 2 SATA + IDE) for 300 bucks

One quick q:

So if there are 3 sata and 1 IDE:

even if I connect all 3, only 2 of those will work? So which Sata would be disabled?

I am asking as I am planning to use one port as esata and rest for HDD...no IDE for me

Jerin...Why the first one? the Rs 844 one looks awesome and has a RAID controller with more ports and that's the reason for my confusion

I bought the same for someone, i think the same... so kinda biased towards .

But i have only used the via one. via 6421... bought for 360 modding few years ago.. also connected 2 sata hdd's to it.

Will u use raid?.... It was never my friends req. just multiple hdd's.

Ok....guess than will buy the 1st one for 300 bucks off SP road
