My friend wants to buy a Treo or an O2. I need to know which is the best along with their authorised dealers. Also which is the best Wireless router for BSNL broadband. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

^ The Treo AFAIK uses the Palm OS, while the O2 uses Windows Mobile.

I'm not sure how good the Palm OS is as I havent personally used it - the basic idea i got about it was that it is a fairly simple no-frills OS with just the basic tools you expect on a PDA.

The Windows Mobile OS though is pretty full-fledged, offering up the experience of the desktop version of windows on your mobile. The OS would be a deciding factor on which one you go for.

Next up, the Treo has a QWERTY keypad, while the O2 relies on handwriting recognition/stylus to move around.

The best wireless router imho for a broadband connection according to me would be Linksys WRT54G.
Its the most flexible router i've ever seen.Lotsa hackable firmwares available which add more functionality & features.Plus its rock stable. The best part is its firmware is based on GNU/Linux.A must have for anyone going for a small/SOHO wireless setup.

The last time I enquired the cost was somewhere around 3.5k.

A WAP[Wireless Access Point] will do,but if you consider the price difference between say a linksys access point WAP54G & linksys router WRT54G,it is not much imho.
So I would advise you to get a wireless router if you can pay a little more for extra features & functionality.
Another thing is making 2 routers work does take a little planning. You just cant plug & play both of them irrespective of anyone being wired or wireless or both being the same.

I myself have the Dlink DSL 502-T which is a wired ADSL router. After I got the Linksys WRT54G I simply made the linksys wireless router work as a access point.

Well i currently use imate pda2k a.k.a o2 XDA 2s.ie o2 xda2 +wi-fi +qwerty keyboard.
Currently pda2k costing about 34k
Imate has introduced new model recently called as imate jasjar a.k.a o2 xda executive. It is a fabulous device google imate jasjar and u will want it.
Has 530mhz xscale processor, dual speaker stereo system,Two 1.3mp cameras, and the thing to look out for is the VGA screen, that is something u will not find in any phone nowadays. But is a little costly abt 50k.Wait for abt 3-4 months,it shud easily drop to abt 40k.If ur friend is in hurry,he could go for pda2k.I am using it for abt 8 months and am quite happy.Wi-fi feature in it rocks.

I suggest your friend gets one of the WM2005 devices..... i've had 2 o2 Mini's and the Pda2k as well... and the batterylife on them ain't nothin home to write about.... its pathetic, to be honest.
WM2005 however brings persistent storage to the table.... which means the battery doesn't keep draining when you dont use the phone. This is unlike WM2003 pda/fones where the battery drains like hell no matter even if you dont *USE* the device!
Check out the HTC Wizard as well.... successor to the o2 Mini. Not sure about its price in mumbai though.
