When is Windows vista releasing the final version and for how much?

bilal iam assuming u mean the amd 64 single core vs pentium D (dual core)

the pentium D 930 processor is priced in the range of Rs 10500-11000
amd's dual core pricing starts from around 16000.

amd 3500+ comes in the range of 9500-10000 thats the closest single core pricing matching intel's dual core.

In terms of multitasking performance the pentium D 930 has an advantage over amd 64 single core ones.

in gaming too u wont notice much of a difference between a pentium D and amd 3500+ just a few fps here and there provided u have a high end gpu.
with a mid ranged gpu an amd 3500+ is better.
( also depends on ur resolution when u game .lower resolutions are cpu bound and higher resolutions are gpu bound)

amd 3500+ is energy effecient with around 10 watts consumption at idle and 40 watts under load (venice core i.e)
pentium D has a tdp of 95 watts.
now if ur comparing intel dual core to amd dual core apart from pricing the amd dual core is faster and more effecient than intel dual cores

So...I should go for the Pentium D ...huh....
Well...thanks for the advice....:)
By the way..how much is that is US dollors...

Depends on ur Uses. If u game too much then A64 is for u. If u do give more priority to something else like Encoding, office App, etc, etc then Pentium D is good. But why not wait for Conroe, It would be a well worth waiting. But the only problems with Conroe is that the mobos supporting them are just too exp.

Also one more advise, wait for Conroe to be launched then buy a x2 3800/4200 for half price.

Ji
Of course dont even think of intel until conroe release. You could go for Amd 64 X2 3800+ or 4200+. They are the best budget dual cores.:hap2:. Hey and there is no pocessor{except high end X2}to compete with fx series

If you wait for conroe it might be a long wait. And if you are purchasing in India it will be a long long while before the conroe comes. Even the am2 processors are not available in India.

^^ double typo's..

I meant Athlon 64 FX

As a matter of fact, FX-62 should be out anytime, and its a dual-core AM2 chip :)

btw, amongst dual cores of amd, which one shall give better floating point performance... an opty or X2... say opty 165 and X2 3800... or opty 170 n X2 4200?

Hey,..for better performance...its AMD>....but Pentium D is better little off in performance...but betterfor the other parts..
