Perx Speakers

Have anyone heard abt this brand? I had been to SP Road, Bangalore and one of the guys over there gave me a demo on these speaker systems. The sound clarity and output was awesome.

He said that these were from Singapore.

Just wanted to know if anyone over here came across these speakers and other systems from this brand.

Stay as far away as you can, intex, frontech, perx all bottom rung brands. Dunno about how you judge sound quality but they sound pretty rubbish. And about your dealer, well he was bs'ing about them being from sg. Stick to Altec, Creative or logitech. State your budget so the members can help you decide. :)

your ears , and not your eyes or your budget should be ones which choose your speakers. branded speakers generally offer quality, but at sometimes too high a premium.

I've heard enough intex /frontech crap to agree that they are pos, but to dismiss a brand just because you've not heard about them is unfair. give them a listen, compare with the altecs and creative, and decide if they are that good

there are some companies in the south east which reverse engineer or build otherwise good stuff. my speaker drivers are from a brand called dainty, and are among some of the better known brands among the chinese ones.

but i still do agree that there is a risk when it comes to buying these things, and caveat emptor :P

Hey the higher range of perx is much better than intex/frontech, or atleast were when i used them. In fact they were much better than samsung or philiphs whose lower ranges came for approximately the same prices. Especially good were there 5.1 speaker system with the tower speakers. actually the power is awesome. However since then they've done away with the tower speaker system & form what i heard form the engineer who works as a repair guy at one of their workshops the quality has deteriorated now.

Of course if you have 10,000 to spare its still a good buy, but if you can wait or get another 10-15 grand its best to go for onkyo or sony, since they're available on easy installments now.

Yeah I feel one shouldn't dismiss low rung brands just like that.

I bought an Adcom 4.1 speaker system 4 years ago and I kept it in Goa since I thought they would be crap. When I went there recently and connected my laptop to it they sounded rather good, definitely not crap. In fact the subwoofer gave some really tight bass. No boom at all !

So it is best to listen to the speaker yourself and test it with a decent source like from a laptop or mp3 player rather than from FM radio players that most shops use for demo.
