For the past week i have been researching online to buy a hatchback(for 5-6L) for my dad who presently owns a santro (5 years old - 120000km done)
I was supposed to get the santro but seeing the petrol prices my dad tells me to get a cheap hatchback for myself and he can get a mid range diesel sedan next year and also cause i said that Ill have to spend 20-25k on santro to get well enough for me as he doesnt care about the scratches but i do
These are the cars i liked with pro and cons list strictly according to what i have found online

Alto K10 Vxi - 3.3L
pro - good engine having great power with mileage
con - disappointing looks

Hyundai eon sport - 3.8L
pro - best in class built quality for both exteriors and interiors
con - 800cc engine so less power

Beat LS - 4L
pro - good engine good mileage , love the looks
con - didnt really find any except that it is slightly more expensive than other two

Wagon R CNG Lxi - 4.3L (only include this one cause of the factory fitted cng)
pro - good engine and average looks , factory fitted cng
con - not sure about engine performance loss due to cng , all the other cons that come with cng

Ill be using the car for next 2-3yrs to go to college with an average commute of 50km 5 days a week from east delhi to south delhi so mostly high traffic roads except the DND.
What I am looking for in a car majorly is that it should have a good engine power wise and mileage wise and should have good looks as Ill be driving it to college.
Don"t really care about the features except some minimum like power windows (front atleast) , central locking , ample space in the front for my feet (I am 6 ft tall) , dont care for the stereo as i would strictly prefer getting one installed myself.

Also wanted to know that if I buy the base model like the beat PS is it possible to get the power windows and central locking get installed later?

Please help me on my way to my first car
All suggestions are welcome and appreciated
Thanks in advance

if the commute as you say is 50 kms per day, then only the wagon r cng makes sense. It is a solid car and 3 families in our building have taken it this diwali! its a no frills and the cng gives a pocket friendly running.

I feel the same way but i want a powerful engine which has nice acceleration and top speed (I am 20 after all) without compromising on mileage. I have doubts about the cng offering that

Also how many kms does that cng cylinder lasts at a full refill?

my neighbor has just taken delivery of their wagon r pro (lxi + cng) they were quoted around 24 to 25 /kg of cng, which is very good IMO. I had gone to take the delivery of the car. Didnt drive the petrol version of the vehicle but the cng one has enough power for a 998 cc engine... also i would suggest you to go for wagon R as you said that your daily travel would be around 50 kms majorly in heavy traffic conditions which zeros down to a CNG or a diesel vehicle for you.

My monthly usage would come around to be 1000kms (20days x 50km) . Isn't diesel recommended in usage of above 1500km monthly?
Also you are saying that wagon r cng has enough power for a 998cc . Does it perform the same as the alto k10 engine??
I checked the on road prices and this is what i found
Beat LS - 4.47L
Alto K10 - 3.79L
Wagon R cng - 4.81L because of this it is out of the budget
plus there would be some offers too on each
now comparing the beat with alto k10 there is a difference of 70k approx . my question is is it worth paying those 70k??

Also could anyone tell me how much would it cost to repaint the whole of my santro and getting the dents removed plus getting the tail lights changed as both of them are a little broken ??
