well i was planing on getting a high-end air cooler but id rather wait for 2months
cuz ill be able to spend a butt load of cash then....
so i am planning on buying some insane cooling for my system but i want some suggestion cuz if i buy a Vapochill LS or XE ill be wasting nearly my entire budget (50k) on the cpu cooling... i also wanted a good cooling for my gpu.

the reason im going for phase cooling is cuz i have seen all water cooling etc are restricted to specific mobos or hardware... so if i upgrade my comp again i will have to chuck all the water cooling equipment :(

so wut do u all think? is phase a good decision...

PS. planning the overclock the shit outta my system so gimme some extreme cooling options.... :cool2:
PSS. reason for the 2months wait is cuz of 12th boards :P :P

hey,

finally some interest in phase change!!!

I have been working on making my own unit for the last year or so, hope to finish it after my boards.

will link pics soon.

but dude... how much will it cost me?

will it come around the same price as a mid range phase unit or will it cost me lesser?

and wut abt the gpu cuz frm all the stuff i have read all the phase cooled systems either use a water cooled gpu or they run double phase change to cool the gpu and cpu together.... i dont think ill be able to afford a double phase change system for 50k so wut wud u suggest me...

and u making ur own unit frm scratch?!? :o

where did u find the compressor and such?

plz do post pics! :D im very curious now

yaa i am building my own from scratch.

bought all the tools and parts ( mainfold, welding toarch, vaccume pump, compressor..etc) from a HVAC shop( 10min walk from my home)

the best place to learn more is XS.

they will cost about the about the same but will perform much better.

you can get units which cool the cpu and gpu but the are more expensive.

for price PM the guys i linked they will be able to give u more detail.

drew and jinu are in the states, little devil is EU.

maybe we can make something together...........ohh u are from bombay.

anyways we both should be studying, when are ur pre-boards.

I just had maths yesterday.

Phase Changer Cooling cannot work 24x7 as far as I know & if it does the electricity bill will give you a heart attack :P

in my opinion get the best Water Cooling kit if you have 50k just for cooling

get the Swiftech Storm Water Block it is good & has retention hardware for Intel socket 478 (Intel® Pentium® 4), socket 775 (Pentium® 4 "Prescott"), socket 603-604 (Intel® Xeon™), socket 462 (AMD® Athlon®, Duron®, XP, MP), socket 754, 939, 940 (AMD® 64 bit processors)

rest of the Water Cooling stuff other TE members would be able to suggest as I have no idea about those stuff

nah nothing required for a Phase change cooler . perhaps you can think of getting Asetek Vapochill

I got two words for you "read properly"

Phase Change Single stage units can run fine 24X7, it is the cascades which can't.

As for power requirement, they are about 250-300 watts.

so assuming it cost you 7 rs KW/h it will cost you .3*7=2.1 rs an hour, 2.1*24*31 = 1600 rs / month.

vapochill sucks, it cannot handle the new proccys,

agreed it has a good controller, but u can get something as good from ssilencer.

@ the_new_guy, my pre-boards are on.... had maths paper 2 on Saturday...

@Udit, how much exactly will the bill be increased by? cuz i have an AC in my room which is on almost full day... so i can keep tht off and keep the phase cooling on :P

i want phase cuz i wanted some extreme cooling which i dont have to manage.. like set it and forget it..

with water there is too much to maintain like change coolant often. and installation is also not tht simple :( :(

i don't think phase change is the right way :)

wut do u suggest then?

if ur rig is in AC 24/7 then a good heatsink willl enuf ...... at least it will be least problematic ....... fit it and forget it kinda thing :) .....

First, what is your aim??
I mean what you want to achieve with the phase change cooling?
Ask yourself this question first.
Second, what system you gona put this on? If you are gona spend on this when you have FX60 system then honestly its waste of money which could be put to better use to improve your current system.
Third. Phase change is not easy thing to do. Even if you get the ready made kits, there are some risks involved and some questions you need to ask yourself like 1.5k+ addition to your electricity bills, the place to keep this. the mess its gona cause where you keep it.

And the most important question, are you really gona go do extreme overclocking. Because if you are not then its senseless to even consider phase change.

To be honest, I dont think Riv has to bother abt a 1.5K increase in electricity bills.... :P

An FX-60, etc...etc... and 50K on a phase change.... I dont think 1.5K will trouble his dad too much :P

@Riv --- No offense meant buddy.....:)

lol...man 24X7, its not good, atleast not to me considering all the chances of ruining hardware in a second... and is it just for da braggin rite u want Xtreme Cooling?? If yes then re-consider.
If not, then do the home-work and order when OCZ Cryo-Z comes alive sometimes this year :) supposedly Fine Tuned by one of the XS Guru - "chilly1". There are some DIY guieds by "Shamino" @ VR-Forums too. Go over it. OR Reconsider :)
Honestly, I have mine in pipes too but for some hardcore benching and not 24X7... and yes I am too lazy to complete it :P
