CPU/Mobo Phenom 6500+ X2 review, AMD Kuma, their best dual core yet?

AMD’s best Dual core ever?! Athlon 6500 (Kuma) review - Expreview.com

Kuma is the first (or last) dual core 65nm CPU in “Stars†family. Early in 2007 Kuma showed up in AMD roadmap. But after September AMD had made their decision that they would launch Phenom 8000 series Triple core, Because of marketing, Kuma delayed to 2008 Q2.

Different from “cities†family, AMD starts their new code naming scheme in Phenom generation. Kuma is the eye of Dragon if you did some search with google. Kuma is a dual core CPU, everything is the same with Phenom X4(Agena)/X3(Toliman) except the number of cores. It is a 65nm CPU with HT3.0 support, its built-in DDR2 memory controller supports DDR2-1066, shared 2M L3 cache, Cool’n'Quiet 2.0. Like other K10 CPU, Kuma has SSE4A instruction support.

Hmm....wait for the full fleged review by AT or Tom in which they compare it to the current gen C2D's

kuma meant a bear in japanese:S ,and is liked with pedobear's origins.:eek:hyeah:

anyways, looks to be a good processor for the money,if it oc'es to 3Ghz without problems, considering its a black edition,it will be a good competition to intel.

yup..jus hope its in the 100$ bracket..dat will be good competition for the E7200..which is domination the VFM segment for a long time

don't get your hopes high folks. This CPU probably won't come out of the test labs.

Instead, wait for Deneb which is supposed to appear in beginning of 2009.

denebs still have along time to come..a good 4 months b4 the first one comes out..

nyways AMd needs some thing desperately in low end dual core segment where the dated K8 architecture is having a hard time to sell even with frequent price cuts...the newer dual core k10 will surely help them sell some units provided they are sub 100 bucks for the kind of performance shown in the benchmarks.
i am sure if the benchmarks are out..amd is thinkin abt gettin it out this month or the next.
