But apparently it only performs good in games; Seems multitasking was a joke with the Phenom;

And no comparison of the OC'd proccies either; :huh:

Actually the review said that it multi tasked reasonably well. Same tasks were faster on the C2D, but that was to be expected with the 600mhz higher clock anyway.

I think the OC would have easily been in favor of the C2D, but they should have included the comparison in the review anyway. (Extremetech with an AMD bias?? hmm..)

What i found impressive was a slower clocked AMD beat a significantly

faster C2D in gaming benchmarks!.

thats what baffling me a bit, that wud mean AMD architechture is far more efficient than C2D but I really doubt that, biased review???? for some reason i wud think it is.

Dark Star,

This particular Extremetech review was by Loyd Case, I dont think he would just publish some crap for the heck of it :)

The only thing i can say is that maybe the Crysis patch with the batch file they used has something to do with the results.

All the other Phenom Triple Core reviews are totally legit :) , but in the few months since the original review, drivers have improved, games have been patched etc etc.. which could explain these results.

AMD needs to reduce prices of the triple core and bring it down on the same level of the E7200 if it has to have even a chance to compete cause when u oc the E7200 its gonana make the tri core bite dust.

Actually I was myself investigating the AMD's solutions for a few days now and it does seem to me that a AMD proccy is a better deal to a gamer than an Intel one in terms of value for money. Intels processors definitely perform better than AMD's, but from the perspecive of a gamer,

one can get a moderately priced triple or quad core for 6~12k, a high end SLI or crossfire supporting motherboard for 7~9k, so all in all he has to spend only about 20k for a platform which supports SLI or crossfire. On the Intel front a C2D 8400 or C2Q 9300 costs from 8~12k and a high end SLI or crossfire mobo will set you back by 12~24k.

If this gaming performance is indeed true, then its great news
Q: will this X3 proccy support 690G motherboard

And why not a E8400 for 9.5k + the abit IX38 QGT for 10.5?? :S

That makes it a better buy;

Those reviews're biased and crappy; :no:

And moreover this triple core will be pitted against a dual core!!! :|

Yes it does, provided your motherboard manufacturer released a bios for it.

you also need to look at it from the price point of view man.. so what if amd's dual cores are worse than intels dual cores.. they do have comparable triple cores.. dont they?

also.. like lord said, you could get a triplecore+board for as low as 13-14k.. when compared to the intels

Open ur eyes; :p

He meant 20k!!!

In that case u can still get an E8400 + a cheap P35 board [that has no CF/SLI support] for 14k!!!

@plsoft: Yeah edit it later to quote his sentence and say that to me; :annoyed:
