15-20K Phone for calls and WhatsApp alongside Note 2 ?

Will be carrying note 2 always, need another phone for my regular number for calls (lot of them), texting, WhatsApp etc..
Needless to say looking for a small form factor
(There aren't good qwerty androids with excellent battery life )

So please advise based on following !

1. Budget?
A: 20k +/- 5k

2. Preferred Form Factor(flip, bar, slider)?
A: Bar, Compact and lightweight , easily pocketable , single handed use ..

3. Preferred display type?
A: TFT, LCD, AMOLED, brighter screens will be a plus , sizes less than 4.5 inches is important

4. Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them.
A: No for BlackBerry (was using recently) , same for Indian re branded Chinese phones ! (Had a worst experience with Mmx a116)

5. Preferred input method (Touchscreen, QWERTY, etc.)?
A: Touchscreen, qwerty

6. Camera required or not? If required, please specify type like front camera/flash/etc.
A: Required a 5MP camera. Flash.

7. Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).
A: Android, ios, WP 8 is okay

8. Preferred connectivity options? (3G, Wifi, Edge etc).
A: 3G.wifi,

9. What is your intended use for this phone(internet, camera, multimedia, mails, etc)?
A: lot of calls , Messaging, Mails, Music, Whatsapp,

10. Any other requirements?
A: USb charging, Easy synchronization with android contacts, Shouldn't be cheap looking, Flaunt value will be a plus

11. If you have already considered a phone then please mention the model.
A: Xperia Midrange, S4 Mini, Nexus, Lumia 720,

Xperia M - screen is a setback
Nexus- new one will rollout soon
Lumia - investment in android apps will be wasted
Q5 , 9790 - uncertain future, need to pay for special data plan monthly


- need something good in battery backup,
- Good looks and fast handling,

Need Help ASAP, Open to shopping online and unlocked Non warranty phones from USA

I need to carry two numbers anyway. .
One personal and one for office , this one is for the office number.

Lenovo P780 for battery but screen is 5", Samsung Galaxy Grand else S Duos. What do you think of them @drkrack

LG Optimus L7II is a good option! Has a 4.3" IPS panel so you get true to life colours and with its 2450mAh battery you can't go wrong. On 2G networks you can easily get a day and a half with voice calls and whatsapp! With 3G however, no phone can last too long!

The Galaxy Grand is a definite no-go! Pathetic lags and touchwiz is a drag! Same case with the S-Duos or any samsung phone below the 23k mark!

For your needs look for phones with battery above the 2000mAh mark!
You can also consider the lumia 720. Will come in at 17k and has great battery backup. And if you are looking for something from the Xperia Stables then the SP is also a consistent performer

No for Galaxy Grand as of now, so for p780 as it's a 5in screen. It's odd to carry two 5in screens with similar features

The Market is skewed so much after Note 1 that it's hard to find smaller screens with up to date hardware specs and large capacity battery.

Yeah Will consider LG L7 too

Had a strange idea today, to buy BlackBerry 9220 (as I was pretty happy with it when company was paying for the data plans) & pay the amount saved as data plan monthly !! I usually don't keep phones more than a year so 12000 saved can pay for the BB data plan for 2 Years !!!
