Well i have listed the two most important requirements and the phone will be used for these two purposes primarily.Apart from this i need good contacts application which can sync with some online services or e-mail so that i don't have to manually enter contacts every time i change my phone.

I don't have a problem in buying a used phone.No problem with any OS.Budget is 15-17k.
A good camera is a must.Mostly will be used to click photographs in restaraunts and should be easily uploaded to facebook via inbuilt app.
Can wait for around 2 month max. before actually buying the device but it should be worth the wait.

Currently rooting for Samsung wave, however if there is an android phone with good camera capabilities then would prefer that.

almost every fone at that price point will satisfy your requirements.

look for an android with flash for camera at that price point.

VFM phone at that range would be samsung wave 8500.. totally worth it if you dont care about the OS.

under android, HTC Wildfire suites your needs but have very inferior hardware compared to Wave.. Devs are trying to port Android over Wave so that may be a good sign.

If you really dont care about the OS at the moment then i would suggest you choose Wave over wildfire.

thanks madnav......the forum says i must spread more rep before giving it to you again.....

I will most probably go for Wave mostly because of it's superb camera and enough social networking features to keep me occupied and happy.Though i can wait for 2 months before i actually put the phone to use.So is there any phone which might be released with a better camera, and possibly even android, though i seriously hope android gets ported to wave soon. That would make Wave a no brainer for sure.

no idea whether there will be a better fone in 2 months...it was not even 2months when wave was made aware of..similar is the case with galaxy 3 and 5.

the handheld platform is moving so fast that most devices even become outdated in 6months period.

so if you want to use it now, buy it now. :)

+1 to the Samsung Wave

Another option would be the Sony Ericsson Aino Classic , costs about the same as wave . has an 8.1MP Camera and according to the GSM arena review , has one of the finest 8mp cameras .

although it is not a smart fone.

a friend of mine has it and it sorry to having bought the same after seeing android in action on my spica :P

the cam is however better than spica and has that executive look which many qwerty slider have. pretty useless thing apart from that as one can nt do much beyond what sony has slapped on it.

yeah and it's touch features are a little limited too...though it does have a better camera, but Wave would give a better overall experience.have a few questions which i have asked about in the Wave thread.Let's see. might pick up A Wave before this weekend

you mention upto 2 months... give it a month after september and it will come to about 20k.. by then you would've saved another 2k i guess and then u can go for it. The device is AMAZING ! I've used it and thats how i am saying.... i totally loved it :D

Typing is as good as touchscreen devices go. It is a capacitive multi touch capable display :)

The facebook app is much better than anything i have seen on any Nokia device... i liked it quite a lot :)
