Phone with Best Signal Catching ability

Since i stay on the outskirts of mysore i get very low signal on my IPhone in my room ..
So i am looking for some cheap handset which has the best signal catching capability(i dnt knw the exact word for this) .. I dont care abt features just taht i shud get good signal in my room ..
Dont suggest those signal enhancing chips as they rarely work ..
 
Alcatel handsets catches signal nicely.. But don't know whether they are in market here.. Now a days..
 
AFAIK, if the signal is ACTUALLY weak NOTHING can be done, but u keep ranting to your cellular provider for a change from their end.. For example...Here in Mumbai i had a BPL connection which would "JUST NOT" be able to get a proper network...the area where i stay is neither isolated...I initially thought its a cellphone problem as well...BUT nope it was the network.....I tried my chip on 4 different phone ranging from 6610i - Which I think is the most awsomest phone for signal catching and a clear talk to the Nokia N series....Nothing helped...ultimately i had to switch to another provider and i am so happy and proud that I did! Here is what you would rather do. Get a Off - Market Signal Booster and install the same out side your house window or something...OR if you really think its the iphone not catching the signals , before you buy a new phone , get someones phone to check if it helps!
 
I took the service provider into consideration .. The thing is that vodaphones is much more worse then the airtel connection i have . I actually had vodaphone and then changed to Airtel cuz of these issues ..The thing is my friend gets a decent signal on his phone (some nokia thing) ..hence i was looking for a some phone which has inherently strong signal catching ability(wats the word for this ) ..
@bty for all u iphone ppl a warning -- It actually is the iphone that is weak .. Tried it on a friends iphone also .. same result ..
