Got it directly from Intel. Have a look.

Judging by the G0 revision, how would you guys rate this chip and how much do you think it would go on stock cooling (something like an Ultra-90 or Hyper48) with a Biostar TP35D2-A7 motherboard?
Also, I'm guessing, the reported processor speed of 1596MHz is due to SpeedStep where the frequency dynamically scales depending on the task at hand, right?
Throw in your comments, guys. Thanks.

Nice. I too aspire to be the proud owner of a quad core CPU some day. :) Right now am on an old P4 2.4 non-HT.

What do you mean "directly" from Intel?

I guess 3.4-3.6Ghz should be doable on that board. The Biostar is a decent clocker for the price. And you'd be better of with a TR Ultima 90 than the CM Hyper48.

I'm on Athlon 64 3200+.... Am I ahead of u ??

It isn't an engineering sample. Anyhow, let's not get into all the hows and whys on an open forum, shall we? What I would like to know right now are the temperatures all you other Q6600 owners are seeing.

Another thing is I'd also need to ensure that my PSU holds out if I were to overclock this chip. Generally, overclocking causes a sharp increase in power consumption as well. My 'meagre' 620watt Corsair had better be good enough for the job :P
