Hi Members,

I have a 10-year old Samsung CRT Tv (Model No-CS29M6) which I run through the output of a stabilizer. Today, while the TV was operating, suddenly with a "click" sound, the picture went off, although the sound remained. Re-starting the TV did not yeild any result.

Now only sound is coming, no picture is appearing. This is the first time in the past 10 years that a problem has occured in this set.

My questions are:

1)Since the TV is very heavy ( a little less than 50kgs), carrying it to the authorised service center will be a hectic task. Will it be safe to allow a local technician inspect it?

2)What is the problem that might have happened and how much it might cost to repair through the authorised service channel personnel?

3)Given the age of the TV, are such problems foreseen in the future? Since we bought the TV, the TV runs 4-5 hrs a week and is extremely well-maintained.

Regards.

Contact your nearest samsung service personal, ask them to pay a visit at your residence and to inspect the CRT.

Can't comment anything on the price, but since the TV is 10 years old, these type of problem are bound to come with age.

I think even a local guy can handle it. I had a similar problem with my old CRT and only a small capacitor like thing needed to be changed. Might be a similar case with your. Auth. service cenntre will charge a hell lot or a visit. I dont think its worth.

The TV was successfully repaired today by Samsung Authorised Service Center. A burnt IC was at fault. Total damage done to pocket is Rs. 600 (Rs.550 service charge & Rs. 48 for IC).

LOL service change is higher then the price of the faulty ic
