Ping problem in TF2

When I ping from Windows command prompt, I get a ping of 46ms but from stem I get a ping of 2000ms.

Not that I need to mention 27028(is this the port or what?) only in steam and not in windows.

What can be the problem here?

the problem is with the server. Try some other servers.

That's the only server in India :-(

try some korean server u'll see high ping but game play will be smooth and shot will register TF2 is kinda of spam game which requires a good team co-ordination

i've a small problem i get no servers from find servers anymore it says query not responding

go to All Games :: Game Server / Player Search :: Game - Monitor . COM

& search for TF2 server in Singapore

tats the nearest route outside india for most isps...

Singaporean servers are giving me more than 250ms ping. Even uk servers are giving better ping. I just hope they setup some servers here, preferentially for both North and South India.
