Ping Transmit Failed : Error Code 2

:@ Hi guys I know what is error code 2. but this is very frustrated my for 45 days,last 5 days back i'm format my pc and reinstall the xp..all thing are working fine.but last 2 days back suddenly i am getting 720 so i am ping my router getting "Unable to contact IP driver, error code2," that not new to me, I have 8 lan cards, currently i'm using Dlink lan card, so i put new realtek, but still facing same,,I'm reinstalled the driver, still same,when i'am format my pc its work but only 2 or 3 days after again got same error code 2.
How to correct this problem...........:cry: :mad2: :banghead: :angry:
 
go to registry

remove both winsock and winsock 2 entries

reboot comp

go to lan properties..install...internet protocol tcpip...choose have disk ..type in the path c:/windows/inf in the file location section

reboot comp again after installation

try the ping again

This has helped me once :)
