Planning to swap my dell 24" LED with a 32"/42"/47" LCD TV.

Usage:
-Computer (6-12hr) Full HD
-Computer ->HD movies
- distance 25"-36" from screen

Requirements
-DVI and HDMI
-Less strain on eyes
-Full HD resolution on windowz.

Which is the best size to go for among 32/36/42?

Even 32" would cause a strain. I've been using a 26" samsung for ~4yrs now & can't use the monitor for extended use.

Gaming: not more than 2hrs at a go. (but the experience is awesome)
Text/office/surfing: replaced all white backgrounds with gray ones still not optimal.
Movies: as the viewing distance is more; works flawlessly

* i use a laptop for regular surfing & office work

I use my 32" Samsung B530 as a pc monitor from 2 feet away and it works perfectly. No eyestrain, headache etc. Crysis looks beautiful on it :')

well at that distance get the 32" ,viewing distance above 3 feet to 4 feet away should cause minimal eyestrain.

anyone using high resolution 27"/32" monitors? what about them.

Also To reduce the eye strain, I normally use the monitors in 0 brightness mode?
does this helps for TV also?

I would be interested to know as well .. my dad plans on swapping his 19" viewsonic for a LCD tv or (24"+) Monitor .... Please suggest guys.. will be used for watching TV(tata sky) as well as a computer monitor...

Cheers

I use a fullHD 32" from 2ft away with backlight at 3 & brightness at 20 so I get absolutely no eye strain
