Yes, RIM indeed gives 18 month warranty (most of the time replaceable) on PBs. Double check the warranty year. If it's April 2011, then warranty was till Oct 2012; or if April 2012, then warranty till Oct 2013.

Do you a link to this info? I've got 2 PBs, one purchased, the other a developer piece, both a on for 12 months warranty from the date of purchase. In India, I believe Redington takes care of after sales.

Got mine RMA-d from Redington. Got a new unit for my old one which had battery drain issue. A person at the Redington informed me of the 18 month warranty: Warranty in india - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

I need a tablet primarily to watch movies and read ebooks. What type of video codecs does the PB support? Can it play 720p/1080p files directly? Does it have a good ebook reader?

I am interested.

I play mostly all 720p and 1080p files which are less than 3.5GB in size.
I personally watch all yifi's rip movie without any problem. I don't have any idea about using it as ebook reader.

Interested, where are you located?

I m from thane.
