CPU/Mobo please choose cpu+mobo combo

hi guys this is arup from kolkata
went out yesterday to get quotations for a basic system
now consider these
******proccy*****chipset******ram
1> athlon64 3000+ nvidia 6100 512 DDR2
OR
2> athlon64 3000+ VIA 2 X 512 DDR2
OR
3> athlon x2 3600+ VIA 512 ddr2
OR
4> P4 3GHz 945G 2 X 512ddr2
OR
5> Pentium D 2.8GHz 945g 512 ddr2
they all cost about the same
will do only light gaming may be a little OC
buying system next week so please ans ASAP

what mobo is it with the 3600x2 forget the pentium d n p4 heheh.

get your self a amd 3600x2 + asus m2n mx or the jetway mobo @ 6.8k + 1gb ram @ 1.6k .

its msi board with via chipset
is p4 3GHz worse than amd64 3000+??
is it better to get nvidia chip + 512 ram
OR via chip + 1gb ram
consider that there is very low chance of system upgrade
[its a basic system :-( ]

can you tell us you exact budget, only then can anything solid be done

and are u planning on Overclocking the system

hmmm, you sure are in a tight fix and and just by a 1000 bux

if 7.5k is your budget then get :

AMD 64 3600+ X2 Brisbane (the one having 1MB L2 cache and running at 1.9Ghz) - 3400

MSI Via chipset you got quoted (me thinks it was the K9MM-V) - 2400

1 x 1GB RAM Stick Kingston DDR2 667 for 1700

get another RAM stick later and run in dual channel then

if u can increase the budget to 8.5K

get the Jetway 690G motherboard or the ASUS M2N-MX for around 3500, has better features, better onboard display solution and can OC the 3600+

what about pentium cpu's???
for 8.5k (plus say 2 hundred) deepak i can get:-
945g mobo + e4300 + 512 ddr2
do u think taht would be better than the config u suggest for 8.5k??
btw thanks for the configs

there is this combo that goes for 6 k amd 3600x2 + some msi mobo i dont remember model number but it as a pci e and and 512 mb on board gpu option also . and along with that 1gb ram bang for your money :)

asrock mobo with via ----- no onboard gfx
BUT
msi mobo with same via ------- via chrom 9 onboard gfx

yep, the k8m has onboard, the k8t series doesnt

and like 200mph suggested, get the system, good VFM

just make sure the msi board u order isnt the one with AGP slot, but with PCIE slot (k8m890 is pcie and k8m800...model no. K9MM-V is AGP)

I think in todays date--U should go for
AMD Athlon64 X2 3600+ --3400
Jetway M2A692-GDG AMD 690G and SB600 Chipset Rs.3,500/-
Kingston -DDR2-667- 1 GB --1400

This would make the best combination- because of superior Video performance of AMD 690G and SB600 Chipset -Via chipset motherboards have always had spotty performance.

^^ he can't, read the above posts, he is short of budget by 1k

besides the onboard graphics and and the OC'in capablity(which i doubt he'll use) the via chipset is pretty decent for a non gamer

well i wud like 2 suggest one thing,dont get a via or a sis chipset they sux big time literally,dont eva think of that betta get urself a nvidia or a ati chipset.

dude, via chipsets get the job done at a very very competitive price and some of the best boards have been VIA, so no they dont suck

give evidence before u want to post such things

PS : i myself am on a NV chipset, but many of my friends are on various rock solid via chipsets
